Polished & Playful: What to Wear This Spring
Whether you love bold colors and playful prints or prefer chic monochromatic layers, this spring's offerings have a little something for everyone. Read on for tips and inspiration from a Nashville stylist! Images: Mackenzie Ryan Photography
Weβve touched on the hottest trends for spring 2025 and timeless spring wardrobe-essentials. To celebrate the OFFICIAL arrival of spring, we called on Nashville wardrobe stylist Emily Goodin β and some of our favorite Nashville boutiques β to bring some of the seasonβs most fun fashions to life.
Because March is Womenβs History Month, this seasonβs photoshoot took place at The Hermitage Hotel, which pays homage to womenβs history with its suffrage-inspired cocktail menu, afternoon tea services, and more β and the volunteer models represent the strong female leadership team at The Hermitage!

If youβre hoping for a fresh new take on fashion this spring, youβll be pleased to see these styles hitting shelves. There are several stand-out trends that Iβm loving this season.
Ladylike Dressing
If you think you can get away with slouchy casual joggers at an event this spring, think again! This trend is shocking our lackadaisical ways back into shape. Think Palm Royale meets country club meets British fashion β¦ itβs all things prim and proper.
Women are βbringing itβ like never before. Our power suits (although still very much in style) are morphing into strong feminine feels via 60s-inspired tailored dresses. Whether a fit-to-the-tee sheath or a structured, bold-colored A-line, these dresses flatter the female form and feel great, too!

Column of Cream
If you only try one new trend this spring, try the column of cream. Soft neutrals from top to bottom are chic. I suggest layering comfortable, loosely fitting pieces. To finish the look, add simple gold jewelry and a fun sneaker, metallic loafer, or platform heel.

Matching Sets and βWallpaper Printsβ
If youβre a die-hard mix-and-matcher like me, you may have resisted the sets that have been at the forefront in recent seasons. However, matching sets have now become an undeniable style must-have. If youβre scared of this trend, try a blouse and skirt in a muted pattern. A flowy fabric like chiffon can also make the look more airy and bohemian rather than loud and bold.

A Little Birdie Told Me β¦
Nature prints are in! Feather accents on cocktail dresses are fun and flirty. We even saw beautiful feather accents grace evening gowns on the Grammyβs red carpet (did you see Sabrina Carpenterβs baby blue look?!). βPut a bird on it,β and bam! Youβre fabulous.

Accessories are Queen!
If you want to look put together, the key is ACCESSORIES. For necklaces, layer gold chains of different lengths and accents with one bold piece on top. For bracelets, thoughtfully mix and match metals and textures and layer them up past your wrist.
If youβre not a fan of costume jewelry and prefer the real thing, try wearing several of your pieces in a way youβve never worn them before. Again, layering is key.
For earrings, simple hoops are making a major comeback. Scarves, belts, and hats can turn a simple outfit into a stylish statement with little effort. This season, more is more when it comes to jewelry.

And confidence is the ultimate accessory β¦
Confidence is the most important element when it comes to fashion and pulling off a trend. Having confidence in what you wear means youβll own your style! How do you do that? My advice is to only explore trends that make you feel authentically you.
I love showing clients a trend that makes them feel like the best version of themselves! Itβs written all over their face when they look in the mirror. If your look makes you feel confident, then you are most certainly in style.
Spring 2025 Makeup Trends
During the shoot, makeup artist Leslie Moore shared two trends to watch this spring β pastels and skincare-forward makeup. Her current favorites are RMS Beautyβs Supernatural Radiance Serum SPF 50 Sunscreen ($49) and Therapy Systemsβ new pink and purple eye shadow pods ($28).
If youβre hesitant to try new shades, a palette that includes pastels and your go-to neutrals is a great option. We recommend this Tartelette palette ($29), which offers the best of both worlds.
