LIGHTWEIGHT JACKETS
With the constantly changing temperatures, lightweight layers are non-negotiable for the spring season. A third piece can completely elevate an outfit and add that finishing touch that is both pretty and practical. These are our must-haves:
Quilted + Printed
These are fun ways to add a colorful and detailed element to your outfit. They are great for bringing in texture and a feminine feel. Pair this style with your favorite denim or trousers. These tend to be statement pieces, so wear them with simple neutrals.
Knit Jackets
Cardigans and light sweaters are classic items for your spring lineup. They’re versatile enough to be worn in a variety of ways and easy to pack or carry in your tote for those just-in-case occasions! Pair this style with dresses or wear it alone as a top. Depending on the length and style, you can wear cardigans and lightweight sweaters with various items, from dresses to denim.
Trench
Ideal for windy and rainy days, a trench coat or jacket is a standard staple. The neutral color makes it easy to pair with almost anything and can complete a monochromatic look. Pair this style with nearly anything — it’s more of a utilitarian item that can complete any ensemble.
Denim
Denim is another tried-and-true piece you’ll reach for repeatedly. Available in varying washes, lengths, and styles, it’s easy to find the perfect one to suit you. Pair this style with casual jeans, dresses, or tailored pants. Denim jackets can go from casual to formal, depending on the details. Keep in mind the wash, buttons, and collar when deciding which denim to don.
JEANS
Denim is a style staple for every season. The best way to differentiate your denim for warmer weather is through the fabric wash. Save this guide to help you navigate any denim doozies that may arise. Here are my selects in each wash to ensure a well-rounded collection.
Light Wash
Light-wash denim typically leans more toward casual. Reach for these for your daytime events. Wear this style with t-shirts, button-downs, and easy go-to pieces.
Medium Wash
Medium wash is the most versatile and classic. You’ll likely reach for these most often. They can be worn for various occasions and pair well with anything from t-shirts to dressy blouses.
Dark Wash
A dark wash will likely be chosen for a “dressed-up” denim. It’s a bit more refined and pairs well with blouses and blazers for nighttime events.
White + Ecru
White denim can be worn fromday to night in the spring and summer months. Pair it with floral tops, lightweight sweaters, and bold accessories. Everyone should look for a pair they love because it’s a great alternative to traditional denim.
Colored
Colored denim is making a comeback in 2025. From light pink and olive green to butter yellow, colored options are a fun way to add a pop of color to your look this season. Pair it with neutrals, or try going the monochromatic route!
SHOES
No look is complete without footwear. With just a few staples, you can create the perfect capsule wardrobe to carry you through spring. Sandals and sneakers are ideal for casual outfitting, while flats and wedges allow you to elevate dresses and denim.
Sandals
Easy and effortless, everyone needs a slide for casual outings this spring. Opt for nude, tan, or black, which will match anything.
Wedges
Add a pair of wedges for a dressier option in your closet. They lean more casual than heels and offer better support and comfort, making them perfect for outdoor occasions.
Sneakers
A no-brainer year-round, the perfect sneaker can pair with a wide range of looks, making them a must. Pair with shorts and denim on the daily or with a dress for an elegant-meets-laid-back combination.
Flats
Opt for a flat when you’re looking for something dressier than a sandal but more casual than a wedge. Whether it is a mule or ballet flat, these are a polished pick that pair easily with almost everything.
A Final Note (and a Final Look!)
These are all great guidelines when you’re looking for inspiration. However, always remember that the best things to wear and pair are the items that make you feel the most confident!
Happy spring styling!
