The bus features only 18 seats, with themed courses of cocktails and light bites. The opening theme is inspired by the ’80s cult classic Karate Kid.

Previously a pop-up, Gene’s recently opened a brick-and-mortar location in Atlanta’s East Lake neighborhood. Upon entry, guests are greeted by a 20-foot faux alligator and a colorful bar reminiscent of Flora-Bama, serving up frozen Bushwackers and Hurricanes.

Meats are cooked Texas-style, with zesty riffs on flavor. Favorites include the smoked brisket and sticky ribs covered in fish sauce caramel and topped with chopped peanuts and fresh herbs. Round out your meal with the Banana Biscoff Pudding, which is not to be missed.

Top Chef alum Kevin Gillespie’s latest venture, NĂ dair, pays tribute to his Scottish heritage and draws inspiration from his time at the now-closed Woodfire Grill.
