Have you watched “Chrisley Knows Best” on the USA Network? It’s an addictive and hilarious reality show that follows the trials and tribulations of the Chrisley family, both at their Atlanta and Nashville homes. We caught up with Julie Chrisley, who is married to Todd Chrisley, to find out more about what makes her tick!

What did you think when you first heard that your family was being considered for a reality TV show?

When my family was being considered for a reality TV show I first thought, “My life, a comedy? Well, if you say so.” I was always excited because I knew what a great opportunity a show could be for our family.

What has been the hardest thing to adjust to with “Chrisley Knows Best”?

The hardest thing to adjust to is definitely the loss of anonymity. No more going to the grocery without makeup!

Is there anything you want your fans to know about the show that they may not already be aware of?

I want our fans to know that we, as a family, feel blessed that you bring us into your lives each week and that we consider this a privilege that you allow us to live out our lives and hopefully impact others in a positive way.

How do you keep your children grounded with the fame brought by “Chrisley Knows Best”?

Keeping the children grounded is probably one of the hardest jobs that Todd and I have, to try and instill in our children. We have always stressed to our children that “Chrisley Knows Best” is a wonderful blessing and opportunity, and that it is our duty to use it for good. We have always told our children that this show will not last forever and that it is our job to take this blessing and pay it forward.

With homes in Atlanta and Nashville, do you see a difference in the cities? What makes each stand out?

Atlanta will always be home. This is where we have raised our children. No matter where we go in this world, we always find our way back home. Even though Atlanta is home, I have grown to love Nashville. It is a wonderful city with such great energy. We love the music scene, and there is always something fun to do.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As a survivor, can you let us know a way to support our friends and family when they are diagnosed that we may overlook but is needed?

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and unfortunately I feel like we all know someone who has been touched by this horrible disease. I am proud to say that I am a SURVIVOR, and I want to use my platform to help others in any way possible. I want people to know how important and special you can be to those battling this disease. A kind word never goes out of style.

October also brings us Halloween. Are you a big Halloween fan?

I love to decorate the house and help the kids with their costumes. We love getting together with our friends for an evening of food and trick or treating, of course.

Did you grow up celebrating Halloween?

I grew up loving this time of year. We always carved our pumpkins and loved going to our grandparents for lots of candy.

Is there any advice that you lean on, or a saying that you are particularly fond of, for work or life?

One of my favorite quotes is, “Be true to yourself, help others, make each day your masterpiece, make friendship a fine art, drink deeply from good books — especially the Bible, build a shelter against a rainy day, give thanks for your blessings and pray for guidance every day.” — John Wooden

Do you have a favorite restaurant? If so, where and what would you recommend we order?

I have so many favorite restaurants. My favorite restaurant in Atlanta is Little Alley steakhouse in Roswell, GA. The Brussels sprouts are my favorite. My favorite restaurant in Nashville is Virago. Spicy tuna is my go-to.

What are you most looking forward to as we wrap up 2016?

I am looking forward to the last few months of 2016. I can’t wait to celebrate Halloween, Thanksgiving and my favorite, Christmas. I am looking forward to the new year and all of the amazing things our family has to share with our fans in the near future.

Is there anything about you that our readers would find surprising?

Surprising fact about me — I am actually very unorganized. I don’t sweat the small stuff, and I am always grateful for my crazy family.

What are three lighthearted things that you can’t live without, excluding faith, family and friends?

I can’t live without Coca-Cola, concealer and SPANX.

Thank you, Julie! For the final two episodes of this season of “Chrisley Knows Best,” tune in to USA Network on November 1, 2016, at 10 p.m./9 p.m. CST … we’re a wee bit scared to watch, but it has nothing to do with this fun, family episode! Let’s just say we’ll have our hands across our eyes and be red-faced … yes, yours truly may just pop up, along with my business partner, StyleBlueprint Co-founder Elizabeth Fox, during the Halloween episode! We may have go into hiding for a week …
