Nashville music venues are aplenty. And as someone who frequents many live shows in and around Nashville, I’ve learned that the right pre- or post-concert spot can totally elevate my experience. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite before doors open or looking to keep the night going after the encore, here are some of my favorite hangouts near the city’s larger music venues. Plus, most of these picks are within walking distance or just a short drive from the venue!

Bridgestone Arena + Ryman Auditorium
Bridgestone Arena and the Ryman Auditorium are just steps apart, so many of these picks work for either venue. Choose based on your mood — or your artist’s vibe.
PRE-SHOW BITES
- Assembly Food Hall:Â For a quick and easy grab-and-go option, Assembly Food Hall offers something for all cravings. You’ll find outposts for popular eateries like The Pharmacy, Prince’s Hot Chicken, and Thai Esane. Bonus: The food hall often hosts local songwriters, so you might even catch some live music before your main event.
- Sixty Vines: Starting in Plano, TX, this trendy spot opened in Nashville in 2021. Known for its wine-on-tap concept, Sixty Vines sits above Assembly Food Hall and serves delicious pasta and Neapolitan-style pizzas. (SB Tip: Don’t skip the Brussels sprouts — they’re some of my favorites in town!)
- The Stillery: If you’re looking for a heartier pre-show meal, The Stillery is known for serving authentic Southern comfort food. Alongside a menu of mason jar cocktails and beer, you’ll find favorites like mac and cheese topped with hot chicken, a pimento cheese burger, and rustic-style pizzas.
- etch: To truly make the most of your night out in Downtown Nashville, book a table at etch. It’s more of a fine-dining restaurant, and it doesn’t disappoint. EntrĂ©es include everything from shrimp and grits to fried cornmeal catfish and wasabi salmon.
POST-SHOW VIBES
- Lower Broadway: While not necessarily a ground-breaking recommendation, Lower Broadway bars are just a stone’s throw from both Bridgestone and the Ryman. On the rare occasion I venture onto Broadway, a few of my favorite stops include Legends Corner, Robert’s Western World, and Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa.
- Pushing Daisies: Calling all margarita lovers! Pushing Daisies is an underground outpost that puts a creative twist on the classic cocktail — think unexpected infusions, fresh-squeezed citrus, and a menu full of bold, tequila-forward libations.
- Broadway Brewhouse Downtown: Offering a laid-back atmosphere, Broadway Brewhouse brings all the vibes. Not in the mood for beer? Try one of their Bushwackers!
- Denim: For a fun rooftop moment, Denim sits atop The Joseph Hotel and offers sweeping skyline views alongside a menu of expertly crafted cocktails.
Ascend Amphitheater
Some of my favorite shows in Nashville have taken place at Ascend Amphitheater. Located on the banks of the Cumberland River and home to a roomy lawn, it makes for a concert experience that feels both scenic and electric.
PRE-SHOW BITES
- Hampton Social: A coastal-inspired spot known for its Instagram-worthy interior, this is a fun spot to grab creative cocktails and light bites before your show.
- Acme Feed & Seed: Blending Southern comfort food and rooftop views, this local eatery is known for its made-from-scratch family recipes, a lengthy craft beer menu, and plenty of live music.
- Martin’s BBQ: For a taste of Nashville barbecue, Martin’s is a local staple with a convenient downtown location. Grab a seat in its spacious beer garden and order classics like pulled pork, brisket, and smoked turkey. SB Tip: This is also a great option for dinner before a show at The Pinnacle (More on that below!).
POST-SHOW VIBES
- Bakersfield: Sure, you can visit Bakersfield before your show, but who doesn’t love a late-night taco and margarita?
- Sidebar: A cozy spot with creative cocktails and a laid-back vibe, this is the perfect spot if you’re looking to venture off the beaten path of Downtown Nashville. It’s also important to note that they’re only open Thursday through Saturday, so plan accordingly!
- Pinewood Social:Â More than just a bar, this social hub also offers bocce ball courts and bowling lanes. And, if you’re hungry for a post-show snack, the kitchen is open until 11 p.m.
The Pinnacle
The newest addition to Nashville’s concert venue lineup, The Pinnacle opened in The Gulch earlier this year. Known for its modern vibe, it’s a great place to see rising stars as well as more established acts.
PRE-SHOW BITES
- Luogo:Â Fuel up on fresh pasta before your big night out, as Luogo offers standouts like bucatini with charred cauliflower, rigatoni Bolognese, and gnocchi sorrentina.
- Superica: One of my all-time favorites, this is a Tex-Mex gem. Kick things off with a margarita, then dig into a bowl of queso and your choice of tacos or enchiladas. My personal favorite? You honestly can’t go wrong with Superica’s classic quesadilla.
- Two Hands:Â Bright and airy, Two Hands sets the perfect tone for a relaxed dinner before an exciting evening full of live music. Offering Australian-inspired dishes, favorites include the harissa chicken bowl, tandoori schnitzel, and piri piri chicken.
POST-SHOW VIBES
- Pullman Standard: An upscale cocktail bar in the historic Cummins Station building, Pullman Standard is known for its creative drinks and chic atmosphere — a stylish way to cap off your night.
- The Patterson House: Recently relocated to The Gulch, this cornerstone of Music City’s craft cocktail scene now offers skyline views, and it’s still pouring delicious cocktails.
- Bar Sovereign: Another one of my favorites, Bar Sovereign is a fun, eclectic cocktail bar. Although a bit on the smaller side, it’s a lesser-known gem that serves delicious drinks in a welcoming atmosphere. (SB Tip: This is also a great post-show option after a show at Ascend Amphitheater.)
Nashville Municipal Auditorium
While Nashville Municipal Auditorium doesn’t offer as many nearby dining and nightlife options as the other venues on this list, it’s a beloved spot for music lovers who appreciate a fun show in a historic setting.
PRE-SHOW BITES
- Puckett’s Downtown: A true Nashville classic, this local restaurant serves authentic Southern cuisine with a side of live music. You’ll find everything from meat-and-three plates to barbecue platters and fried chicken.
- Stateside Kitchen:Â Can’t decide what you’re craving for your pre-show meal? Stateside Kitchen offers everything from traditional American fare to coastal favorites (think steak frites, seared salmon, BBQ short ribs, and a hot chicken sandwich).
POST-SHOW VIBES
- Corner Pub Downtown: A beloved neighborhood hotspot in the heart of downtown, this low-key hangout is perfect for unwinding after an exciting concert.
- Daddy’s Dogs: I live by the notion that no trek to Downtown Nashville is complete without a Daddy’s Dog. Whether you’re wrapping up your night or just need a quick bite between bars, the Printer’s Alley outpost always hits the spot.
- Fleet Street Pub: Next to Daddy’s Dogs, this beloved watering hole offers a classic British pub feel. Pop in here after your show for a pint and an order of fish and chips.
