Watkins Young Artist Programs help kids and teens develop creatively as they cultivate artistic skills. Led by outstanding artists, designers and educators, these programs explore the artistic process with emphasis on problem solving, designing, communicating and creating. Young artists will have the opportunity to work with high-quality materials, in college-level studios, so they encourage dressing for a mess to fully enjoy the creative process. Their summer youth art programs offer a full week of artistic inspiration. After the fun-filled week of creating, all youth will display their work alongside their peers in an art show open to all the artists’ families and friends.

Their camp for ages 15-18 is the Summer Studios pre-college experience. This program provides a rigorous art and design school experience with both a day program and overnight option. Students will study under the tutelage of industry professionals and the college faculty in the O’More and Watkins colleges at Belmont. All students will select courses matching their creative interests and engage in critiques as they work towards an exhibition of their work at the conclusion of the program.

Camps for ages 6-14 are day camp format, with students working under the guidance of expert art educators. Students will explore new media and techniques inspired by a weekly theme. All students will participate in an art show open to friends and family at the conclusion of the week.
