It’s hot, and the temps are only rising. This means, we are as eager as ever to cap off our days with a refreshing (often, alcoholic) beverage. With a few inexpensive bottles of wine, frozen and fresh fruit, ice and a blender, you can make these wine slushies in no time. These three variations of wine slushies are easy, refreshing and sure to impress the crowd. If you are looking to make wine slushies as part of a full-blown summer soiree, keep these outdoor entertaining tips in mind, put together a grilled peach, onion, corn and bacon salad, and create an unforgettable evening — despite the summer heat.

3 Delicious Wine Slushies

Strawberry and Peach Rosé Wine Slushies (our version of frosé — pronounced fro-zay!)

Snag a bottle of rosé (we opted for Broadbent Vinho Verde Rosé from Harvest Wine Market for $10.99) and toss it in the blender with frozen peaches, frozen strawberries and simple syrup. If you prefer fresh fruit, be sure to up the amount of ice to get the consistency just right. While all of these are worth making, we have to admit that this was the staff favorite. It is extremely refreshing and a little too easy to forget there is alcohol in it, so sip slowly!

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of rosĂ©
  • 3 cups of ice
  • 1 cup of frozen peaches
  • 1 cup of frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup of simple syrup (equal parts water and sugar)

Blend all ingredients, and garnish with option mint and strawberries.

Rosé, strawberries and peaches come together in this wine slushy, which is simple, just sweet enough and very refreshing. Jazz up your drink with fresh fruit and fun straws (such as these from Shindigs and Celebrations).

Berry Red Wine Slushies

Red wine lovers will appreciate this version of the wine slushy but, of course, the berries and simple syrup add a touch of sweetness not typically found in red wine. That being said, the sweetness is not overwhelming. For the wine, we chose a bottle of Indaba Merlot ($10.99 at Harvest Wine Market), a clean merlot with undertones of cherry, berry and plum that works well with the mixed berries.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of red wine
  • 3 cups of ice
  • 12-ounce bag of frozen berries
  • 1/4 cup of simple syrup

Blend all ingredients, and garnish with optional fresh blackberries and basil.

We adore the color of these red wine and berry slushies! Garnish them with some fresh berries and sprigs of mint for an eye-catching look.

Grapefruit, Raspberry and Lime White Wine Slushies

When creating this slushy, be sure to find an unoaked chardonnay that does not pack too much sweetness, such as Mirth Chardonnay ($14.99 at Harvest Wine Market). We used fresh raspberries but frozen will work just as well (but be sure to edit the amount of ice if you use frozen). We couldn’t help but think this wine slushy might taste even better with a splash of tequila. If you have the same thought, do some taste testing and let us know how it goes!

What you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of white wine
  • 3 cups of ice
  • 3/4 cup grapefruit juice
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice and pulp
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 cup simple syrup

Blend all ingredients and garnish with optional lime wedges.

Get blitzed on wine slushies this weekendPin

This weekend, you can find us getting blitzed on white wine slushies! Love this glass? Find it at White’s Mercantile for $10.

Don’t be afraid to get creative with these wine slushies! Play with the fruit combinations and test different wines — you might have just as much fun making them as you do drinking them. We do suggest refreezing these before serving as they are likely to melt in the heat.
