Mixing patterns when dressing is hard. There are so many ways to get it wrong that many women often won’t give it a try. Today, we show you how to keep it simple when you use one basic item: the black and white striped tee.
Here are some examples of pattern mixing with stripes to get the discussion going.
With a black and white tee, the most basic ways to mix patterns are to keep within the same color palette (i.e., other black and white patterns), or mix with a pattern that has black or white in it. There are other things to consider and many more ways to spread your wings, but we’re sticking with the basics today!
For our first set, here are some examples of how to mix your black and white striped tee with other black and white patterns. The pop of color comes from the handbag. You can use nail polish, a scarf, jewelry, shoes, etc. to add some color, as well, or just stick to neutrals. The handbags that follow are from Elaine Turner (pink) and www.jmclaughlin.com (yellow).
