We’re back with another round of table-setting inspiration courtesy of Nashville event planner Amos Gott. Last month, we leaned into tropical motifs and late-summer produce. This month, it’s all about fall — gourds, sunflowers, and cozy color palettes. Read on for three beautiful tablescapes, plus tips and product lists so you can recreate them at home.

Be sure to refer to the previous installment for a refresher on Amos’s essential table setting do’s and don’ts!

Farm to Table(scape)

Our first tablescape offers all the best of quintessential fall table decor, leaning into shades of brown, green, and yellow to set the scene, plus farmers’ market-inspired elements like carved wood pumpkins, sunflowers, and even a little wildlife.

When you’re building your fall floral arrangements, don’t restrict yourself to traditional “fall colors.” A touch of pink in these arrangements adds just the right amount of soft contrast to break up the palette that runs throughout the rest of the table design. Image: Kenzie Barron

Adding height to your centerpieces with floral arrangements and taper candles creates dimension, but Amos cautions against using any elements that are TOO tall — you always want your guests to be able to see each other across the table. Image: Kenzie Barron

Don’t be afraid of a little whimsy! The unexpected details are the ones your guests will remember the most. In this table design, Amos placed one of these squirrel nut bowls at both ends of the table, with nuts spilling over onto the table running and becoming part of the tablescape. Image: Kenzie Barron

Refined Rustic

This wonderfully neutral tablescape is beautiful for fall entertaining, but it also makes a great base for year-round gatherings. The layered wood elements create a cozy base to build on, and you can swap in seasonal florals and holiday-specific accessories that you have on hand as different occasions arise!

Small table lamps are great for tablescaping thanks to their visual appeal AND the added benefit of mood lighting. You can make your lamps wireless by cutting off the cords and using rechargeable LED bulbs! Image: Kenzie Barron

Black & Bloom

Our final table design could work for any casual autumn gathering, but it’s especially fun as a subtle spin on traditional Halloween table decor. Matte black plateware and accessories, taper candles, and dark printed placemats set a moody scene, while the pop of vibrant yellow florals completes the look.
