Why did I say this dip is addictive? Because whenever I make it, there is never anything left over. And, if I make it just because I want it, I then need to put it in a container and give it to a friend to get it out of my house, or I will eat it ALL.

This recipe consists of only five ingredients, and nothing is particularly remarkable until you mix those ingredients, wait 30 minutes, and scoop that rippled potato chip into the dip. And then … this dip is all you will think about for the rest of the day. How is it sooooo good???!!!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Whipped cream cheese
  • Dill pickles
  • Bacon
  • Green onions
  • Dill
  • Optional: black pepper and/or crushed red pepper to taste
  • Serve this with Ruffles potato chips with ridges.

This is a serious get-out-of-my-way-I-must-have-the-dip kind of dip. What better for a cake stand dip? It’s easy, it’s pretty, and it will be scraped clean!

See all the fresh dill, pickles, bacon, and whipped cream cheese? It’s insanely easy to make and equally insanely delicious to eat!

Serve this dip with authentic potato chips β€” not the fancy kettle-cooked varieties. This dip calls for old-school Ruffles with ridges! YUM!

I love this dip so much that I would consider spooning it onto mini pieces of pumpernickel bread for a more sophisticated presentation β€” then you can use the recipe for passed hors d’oeuvres. Top each one with a pickle chip, a teeny piece of bacon, and a little sprig of fresh dill.

The only thing that will take you extra time to make this recipe is cooking the bacon. Otherwise, this dip is a “mix, wait, and serve” appetizer.

Serving this dill pickle with bacon dip on a cake stand to create what we are coining, “cake stand dips,” elevates it immediately β€” far more than serving it in a bowl with some chips around it. It’s far prettier and easier to scoop. It also means you get more of the yummy additional toppings … and who doesn’t love MORE pickles, bacon, and dill?

Ingredients

  • 2 12 oz Whipped cream cheese
  • 2 16 oz Grillo's Fresh Classic Dill Pickle Chips You need two as one is used mixed into the dip and about 1/2 of the other container is used to layer on top
  • 3/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 pound bacon
  • .5 oz Fresh dill I get one container of the pre-packaged fresh dill at Kroger and use the whole thing

Instructions

  • Cook 1/2 pound of bacon.
  • Drain one container of pickles and chop. Remove half of pickles from the second container to drain and chop as well.
  • Remove dill from the thicker stems.
  • Mix cream cheese with one container's worth of pickles, green onion, half the bacon and 3/4 of the dill. You can add a little bit of black pepper and/or crushed red pepper here as well. Let sit for 30 minutes.
  • Evenly spread this cream cheese dip across a cake stand with a spatula.
  • Top with remaining diced pickles, bacon, and fresh dill.
  • Serve with rippled potato chips. I prefer old school, delicious Ruffles with ridges!
