Named after the 19th-century German immigrants who settled there, Louisville’s Butchertown has evolved far beyond its roots as a meatpacking district. Today, the neighborhood is packed with locally owned shops, restaurants, and attractions — including the region’s largest soccer-specific stadium. “The great thing about Butchertown,” says Louisville developer Andy Blieden, “is everything is mom-and-pop — locally owned.” That quirky, community-driven spirit is exactly what makes this Louisville neighborhood worth exploring. Here’s where to eat, shop, and play while you’re there.
