Best Pizza in Nashville: Our Team’s Favorite Spots
We asked the StyleBlueprint team to share their favorite pizza spots in Nashville. The result was this list of 16 mouthwatering options all over town. Dig in!
We can argue hot chicken and barbecue with the best of them, but the most hotly debated topic among StyleBlueprint team members recently has been where to get the best pizza in Nashville. And since this is a reader question weβve received on several occasions, we officially surveyed the team for their favorite picks. Surprisingly, there wasnβt much overlap, so this is a pretty comprehensive list of 16 great pizza spots all around Nashville β plus a couple of βnicheβ bonus picks at the end!
*Listed in alphabetical order
Amerigo
Neighborhood: Midtown
More info: amerigo.net
StyleBlueprintβs founder and CEO, Liza Graves, avoids gluten but loves pizza β and she hasnβt been able to stop thinking about her recent order at Amerigo on West End β one of only seven outposts of this small Southern chain. βAs Iβm gluten-free, my options are pretty limited, and I typically cook the βAgainst The Grainβ brand pizzas at home. BUT, I recently had the BEST pizza at Amerigo,β says Liza. βIt had a gluten-free crust, black mission figs, caramelized onions, feta, mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula salad, and a balsamic reduction. Iβve been craving it ever since!β There are many other pizza options, but this out-of-the-box option is a winner for sure.

City House
Neighborhood: Germantown
More info: cityhousenashville.com
A mainstay in Germantown since long before the neighborhood became the culinary destination it is today, City House serves up comforting yet upscale fare. Offering a rotating menu of seasonal, Italian-inspired dishes, they always have a selection of wood-fired pizzas on the menu. Youβll typically see four to five pizzas with a selection of in-season toppings, but the iconic, always-available choice is the belly ham pizza. If they ask if youβd like to add an egg, say yes. The combination of rich, runny egg yolk, ham, and cheese is unforgettable.

DeSano Pizza Bakery
Neighborhoods: Midtown, Bellevue, Downtown-Assembly Food Hall
More info: desanopizza.com
Often referred to as DeSanos (we Southerners love to pluralize), this longtime Nashville favorite serves up authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas. Though its original Nashville location is in Midtown, theyβve added locations in Bellevue and Fifth & Broadβs Assembly Food Hall to the roster in recent years β with a rumored Germantown location in the works, too. You canβt go wrong with any of the pizzas, but if you have room, throw in an order of the meatballs.

Diceyβs Tavern
Neighborhood: Wedgewood-Houston
More info: diceystavern.com
One of the more recent additions to the scene, Diceyβs Tavern in Wedgewood-Houston specializes in βparty cutβ pizzas β thin crust, cut into squares, perfect for sharing. Theyβve become a fast favorite among Nashvillians, offering creative specialty combos like the Hot Pickle Bacon Cheddar Pie and a much-appreciated selection of dipping sauces at the ready: ranch, red sauce, and hot honey. They also have subs, sandwiches, and an impressive beer, wine, and cocktail selection.

Emmy Squared
Neighborhoods: Germantown, East Nashville, Green Hills
More info: emmysquaredpizza.com
If youβre a fan of Detroit-style pizza β ultra-thick, doughy crust served in rectangular fashion β youβll love Emmy Squared. While you can easily make a meal of these pies, theyβre great for sharing if you want to add on their wildly popular Caesar salad, crispy chicken bites, or an order of seasoned waffle fries. They have vegan and gluten-free options at the ready, too!
SB Tip: Theyβre currently offering a summer pizza happy hour Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to close, with 20% off all pizzas plus drink specials.Β

Five Points Pizza
Neighborhoods: East Nashville-Five Points, West Nashville
More info: fivepointspizza.com
Five Points Pizza is iconic in these parts, serving up New York-style pizzas done well, along with calzones and some seriously epic garlic knots β and do not sleep on their salad selection! The pizzas are pretty substantial and great for sharing, but they also offer by-the-slice options daily, including cheese, pepperoni, veggie and meat specials, and our personal favorite: the prosciutto and basil slice.

Folk
Neighborhood: East Nashville-McFerrin Park
More info: goodasfolk.com
Folk is an upscale, tucked-away eatery in East Nashville, serving up sourdough pizzas and a rotating menu of seasonal fare. There are typically a few options, some meaty and some vegetarian, but if the clam pizza is on the menu, itβs an absolute must. We were skeptical at first, too, but trust us. Youβll still be thinking about it the next day.
SB Tip: When your cravings steer you more towards pasta than pizza, check out their sister restaurant, Rolf & Daughters.

Lockeland Table
Neighborhood: East Nashville -Lockeland Springs
More info: lockelandtable.com
Another intimate eatery known for top-notch seasonal fare in East Nashville is Lockeland Table, a mainstay in the Lockeland Springs neighborhood since 2012. While this spot is not necessarily known as a pizza spot, several of our team members swear by their selection of wood-fired pizzas. Pictured here is the Woodstock, featuring mushrooms, shaved asparagus, fresh mozzarella, taleggio cheese, and spring herb pesto. Almost too pretty to eat!

Midnight Oil
Neighborhood: The Nations
More info: instagram.com/midnightoilnash
A casual neighborhood bar thatβs popular amongst West Nashville residents, Midnight Oil is cozied right up against 51st Deli in The Nations. The menu is short and sweet, with a few suggested pizza combinations and an option to build your own. If you have a large group, throw in an order of cheesy breadsticks β theyβre decadent but delicious!

Nickyβs Coal Fired
Neighborhood: The Nations
More info: nickysnashville.com
Another favorite in The Nations, Nickyβs Coal Fired specializes in wood-fired pizzas that never disappoint, but they also offer salads and a rotating selection of pasta dishes. If you see the house-made focaccia on the menu, do not hesitate β itβs served with a creamy sorghum butter, usually accompanied by a seasonal jam.
SB Tip: On Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nickyβs Bagel Shop is open! You can grab a table and enjoy a bagel sandwich and a mimosa, or grab bags of bagels and pints of cream cheese to go.

NY Pie
Neighborhoods: Nashville West, Hendersonville, Franklin
More info: nypienashville.com
True to its name, NY Pie serves up truly delicious New York-style pies. Perhaps one of the lesser-known options on this list β but a standout favorite among SB team members β NY Pie is deliciously authentic thanks to their hand-tossed dough (made fresh daily) and sauce made from imported Italian tomatoes. We frequent the location at Nashville West on Charlotte Pike, but you can also find them in Hendersonville and Franklin.

Robertaβs
Neighborhood: East Nashville-Lockeland Springs
More info: instagram.com/robertaspizza
Currently in residence at East Nashvilleβs Urban Cowboy Public House, Robertaβs operates out of a permanent stand just outside the entrance. You can order their freshly wood-fired pizzas to-go or take them into Urban Cowboy to enjoy on their patio with your boozy beverage of choice. They have selections for every taste, but weβre partial to the Bee Sting, featuring tomato, mozzarella, basil, soppressata, chili, and honey.

Rockβn Dough Pizza + Brewery
Neighborhoods: The Nations, Dickerson Pike
More info: rockndoughpizza.com
Yet another popular pizza hang in The Nations, Rockβn Dough offers a casual sports-bar vibe (with weekly trivia nights!). Their sister brewery, Hub City Brewing, is located in nearby Jackson, TN, so be sure to sample a few of their offerings with your pie of choice. If you favor a gluten-free crust, try the cauliflower option β itβs perfectly crisp, and youβd never know it has a cauliflower base!

Salβs
Neighborhoods: Brentwood
More info: salspizzatn.com
True to its name, Salβs Family Pizza in Brentwood is a no-frills Italian joint offering traditional options, including pizza, calzones, pasta, and sub sandwiches β but you can easily tweak their selections to build your ultimate personal order. βItβs not a fancy place at all, but the pizza tastes very fresh and yummy. The crust is amazing,β says SB Account Manager Melissa Thompson. βMy husband, Mark, doesnβt like red sauce, so we love the Pesto Veggie Pizza. We always add chicken to it.β

Slim & Huskyβs
Neighborhoods: North Nashville, Downtown-Assembly Food Hall, West Nashville-St. Thomas Hospital
More info: slimandhuskys.com
Founded by three friends and TSU grads in 2015, Slim & Huskyβs has enjoyed explosive success with locations popping up all over the South β and even one in Sacramento, CA. Pizzas are made to order in a single size β weβd call it a βpersonal pizzaβ if youβre hungry enough. And for dessert, they offer a selection of decadent cinnamon rolls.
SB Tip: You can ship their pizzas as a gift via Goldbelly!

TailGate Brewery
Neighborhoods: West Nashville, East Nashville, Music Row, Germantown, Hendersonville
More info: tailgatebeer.com
Another local spot thatβs seen rapid growth in recent years is TailGate Brewery! The headquarters is located on a patch of land deep in West Nashville on Charlotte Pike, and you can also find locations throughout the city. While some folks may come for the craft beer, theyβre sticking around for the pizza, too. You can expect a reliable lineup of signature pizzas, plus fun specials like the chicken shawarma pizza pictured here, loaded with fresh veggies.
SB Tip: If you havenβt been to a TailGate movie night at the Headquarters location, youβre overdue! Their trivia nights are also a huge draw.

TWO BONUS PICKS
Of-the-Moment: Little Gourmand Pizza Croissants
Neighborhood: Green Hills
More info: littlegourmand.us
These lilβ pizzas may seem like something youβve seen before, but rest assured, they are a treat. The crusts are made of from-scratch croissant dough, so each bite is delicate, flaky, buttery goodness. Layered with ripe tomatoes and fresh basil, itβs the perfect summer snack!

On Wheels: Flour & Forge Pizza Co.
Neighborhood: Depends!
More info: flourandforge.com
Flour & Forge Pizza Co. comprises a fleet of food trucks and trailers equipped with wood-fired pizza ovens. They offer catering for large events like weddings and corporate outings, and they also post up regularly at local festivals and retail locations.
