The one that caught our eye, though, is the Fried Broccoli with Lemon Zest, Sea Salt and Dipping Sauce found on the menu at Pinewood Social, which we have reprinted with permission below. And by all SB staff accounts, this broccoli recipe is pretty spectacular! “I can verify that it is SO good,” shares SB data analyst Peyton Haecker. - 2 heads of broccoli
- 2 quarts canola oil
- Zest of 2 lemons
- Sea salt to taste
- ½ cup whole almonds
- ¼ cup raisins
- 3 TBSP red wine vinegar
- 1 ½ TBSP Dijon mustard
- 1 shallot, roughly chopped
- 1 clove garlic, roughly chopped
- ½ cup olive oil
- ½ cup water
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Heat the oil in a frying pan to 375 degrees. Add broccoli and fry for approximately 30 seconds or until the edges appear crispy. Once cooked, remove and set on a paper towel. Top with fresh lemon zest and sea salt.
- Mix all dipping sauce ingredients into VitaMix or food processor and puree until smooth.
