Let the holiday season commence! With November comes the start of family shindigs, work commitments and a lot of cool events happening throughout Atlanta. Though it did take a minute for temperatures to drop, we’re finally feeling fall in our great city. And with feeling fall comes dressing fall! We teamed up with some of the wonderful boutiques at Westside Provisions District to create looks sure to impress. We start off the fun pairing Roberta Roller Rabbit’s colorful, artistic patterns with the lovely shades of white and red at the Decatur Wine Festival. Next, we look chic and oh-so-fabulous at the Brookhaven Brunch Festival thanks to the gorgeous pieces from Ann Mashburn. Finally, we end the month with a bit of holiday magic at Cirque Dreams Holidaze with stylish clothing from Calypso St. Barth.
One quick note, we’re doing things a little differently (and way more exciting) this month when it comes to our What to Wear series. We decided to give life to these amazing outfits by dressing a real person! And the model is our very own StyleBlueprint intern, Morgan Tatum! She’s a wonderfully talented member of the team who knows how to work a cape.
The Event: Decatur Wine Festival
- Saturday, November 5, 2016, 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- On the square in Downtown Decatur
- Tickets cost $40 and are only for adults 21+
We will do just about anything for a party and wine. Combine those two together and you know the good people at StyleBlueprint will be first in line at the entry gates. The Decatur Wine Festival features nearly 500 wines from around the world for ticket holders to taste. Enjoying all that vino just seems to taste better while enjoying live music, an artwalk and a general sense of frivolity. Decatur always knows how to throw a good party, and this wine festival is just another feather in the city’s cap … or perhaps another cork in the bottle?
What to wear: This outdoor wine festival requires colorful, comfortable clothes that are also super cool. We love the pieces from Roberta Roller Rabbit as the store celebrates unexpected and charming color combinations and patterns (which you may need in case you spill a glass of wine). The whimsical styles are the perfect match for Decatur’s creative, independent spirit. And here’s the best part: Besides the great outfits we’re sharing here, Roberta Roller Rabbit is known for their signature sleepwear. Pick up a set of pajamas and have them ready to go after you Uber home from the Wine Festival and are ready to pass out.
The Event: Brookhaven Brunch Festival
- Saturday, November 12, 2016, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- General admission tickets are $25 and go to $30 on the day of the event (unless sold out); VIP tickets are available at an additional cost (unless sold out)
- 21 & older event at Brookhaven Park
- Visit brookhavenbrunchfest.com for more details
Brunch is by far my most favorite meal of the day, and to have a whole festival that celebrates that honored weekend activity just makes us blush. The first Brookhaven Brunch Festival offers tasting-size portions of brunch items from the best restaurants in the city. And of course, you can’t have brunch without the right cocktails — mimosas, Bloody Marys, champagne — and the right soundtrack (The Geeks will be performing live). Visit the site to learn more about the participating restaurants and ordering tickets.
What to wear: Ann Mashburn is fashion genius who knows how to dress women. The boutique carries classic silhouettes and chic fabrics that work for almost any occasion, especially that of the brunch variety. Ann Mashburn (and her super helpful staff) take into consideration every detail of a look — from the elegant clothes to the rich accessories to the killer shoes. As you wander the tables of delicious brunch items, stand out from the crowd in these high-end pieces. We especially love the jackets and outerwear options Ann Mashburn offers that keep you warm when dining outdoors while still keeping it cute.
The Event: Cirque Dreams Holidaze
- Wednesday, November 23, 2016 and Friday, November 25, 2016
- Located at the Fox Theatre
- Purchase tickets online
Combine the magic of a Cirque show, the nostalgia of a Christmas spectacular and the excitement of a Broadway production, and you’ve got Cirque Dreams Holidaze. This event is such a wonderful place to break up the Thanksgiving holiday because it’s a sure crowd-pleaser for any age. Who wouldn’t want to see a gravity-defying Santa or gingerbread men come to life on stage? Cirque never disappoints with their elaborate productions and dazzling costumes, and wrapping it all up in a nice holiday-themed bow makes it that much neater!
What to wear: A Cirque show is quirky, over the top and super creative, so the fashion should follow suit. We visited Calypso St. Barth because they have a wonderful combination of cute day looks and shimmery night ones as well. Since Holidaze sandwiches the Thanksgiving holiday, we think go glitzy — choose one of Calypso’s fabulous, lush, embroidered looks, and get dressed up for the theater like they did back in the day.
Treat yourself this Thanksgiving season to a new outfit (or three), and dress up for some of Atlanta’s best upcoming events! A huge thank you to the people at Westside Provisions District for letting us shoot all around the super cool campus.
