What you wear on the course or court can make or break your game — and your day.
As someone who plays 18 holes every week, I’ve learned the importance of athletic style that holds up to heat, movement, and even the post-round margarita. In this guide, I’m sharing versatile outfit ideas that meet most dress codes (private club or public course), feel good in motion, and look great — from golf to pickleball to tennis.

What Do Women Wear Golfing?
It can feel a bit intimidating when some courses enforce a dress code, but there’s one simple rule to remember: always wear a collar. Private courses and country clubs may have stricter guidelines, like no sleeveless tops or specific length requirements for bottoms. However, a classic polo shirt with a collar and just-above-the-knee skirts often meets most dress codes.
Public courses are more relaxed, but still expect you to look polished — avoid overly casual items like tank tops, graphic tees, and yoga pants.
For stylish, comfortable options, go for moisture-wicking polos, collared shirts, skirts, shorts, or dresses. On cooler days, try golf pants or capris with stretch fabric. The key is to choose lightweight, breathable clothing that helps you stay cool and confident on the course. With so many chic options available, you can look great and play even better.
Golf Tops
These are the polos I currently wear and love — each from my go-to, most trusted golf apparel brands.
Kenny Flowers
I first discovered Kenny Flowers when shopping for golf attire to bring on my honeymoon to the Dominican Republic. I fell in love with the brand’s “his and hers” matching golf sets. (And yes, I made my husband wear matching polos every day we played.) A small detail I particularly like is that each golf polo has a place to hold a tee on the button-up collar.
Walter Hagen
A tried-and-true golf brand, Walter Hagen is widely available at most sports stores, including places like Golf Galaxy and Dick’s Sporting Goods — perfect for when you book a last minute tee time and are looking for something new to wear.
Bad Birdie
I love Bad Birdie golf polos because of the unique print options. As I get ready to head to Arizona for a golf trip, I can’t wait to wear this recently purchased desert-themed golf polo!
PUMA
I got my first PUMA golf polo at a PGA event, and I continue to be obsessed with this brand. The soft, lightweight polos come in four-way stretch fabric that is moisture-wicking and fast-drying. While filling your closet with colorful prints is fun, it’s always a good idea to have at least one or two classic polos, like this black sleeveless golf top.
Nike
It probably comes as no surprise that Nike is a reliable brand in golf apparel. The first golf polo I ever bought was Nike, and it’s the top I wear most often due to comfort. I love this Dri-FIT short-sleeve option because of the breathable fabric and sleek collar design. When I’m in the mood for something less sophisticated and more sporty, this is my go-to.
Golf Skirts
Outdoor Voices
My favorite golf skirt comes from Outdoor Voices. It’s sleek, modern, and sporty. The built-in shorts feature a pocket, making it easy to store a ball marker or extra tees.
Athleta
My other go-to skort comes from Athleta. I love the high-rise fit for maximum comfort — and for tucking in a golf polo for a polished look.
Alo Yoga
Everyone needs a pleated skirt in their golf or tennis wardrobe. I love this pleated skort because, quite frankly, Alo Yoga makes the softest fabrics.
Golf Shoes & Accessories
Nike Air Max shoes
Of all of the golf apparel and accessories I have acquired over the years, my Nike Air Max golf shoes are by far my most beloved. I no longer complain about aching feet after a long day on the course — these shoes are unbelievably comfortable, while still providing enough grip on the tee box. And to my surprise, they’ve stayed unbelievably clean throughout their use.
Bombas
Bombas was already my favorite brand for running socks, so when I received these golf socks from Bombas as a gift, I was obsessed. They feature tons of cushion, and they’re still breathable after 18 holes.
Golf gloves
My two favorite golf gloves are the Bridgestone Golf Lady Glove (with interchangeable colors) and the TaylorMade Kalea Ladies Golf Glove. Both feature a mesh fabric over the ring finger, which is especially nice if you wear jewelry while you play.
Cheers to making birdies in style!
