Paige Perkins loved her work with large fashion retail companies, Gap, Coach, and Alternative Apparel, but she wanted to create something of her own. A side job at a blowout salon got her thinking, “I can do this. And I can do this in my on way, using the skills I learned through fashion, retail, and design to create a beautiful space and a welcoming place that also gives clients killer blowouts.” And, with that, GlowDry was born.
Only open six months, word is spreading about GlowDry’s attention to detail and thoughtful customer service. When we walked through the door, the clean lines and clutter-free atmosphere caught our eye. Paige worked with friend and interior designer, Heather Roberts of Ivy and Vine to create a welcoming space, but also one that was relaxing and calming. Paige knows her clients have very busy lives and she wanted a space where they could relax.
It was important to Paige that there be an area for relaxation and conversation right in the middle of the salon. This also makes GlowDry a great place to host a party. Bridal party, girls’ night out, baby shower, the staff loves to host any kind of party you can imagine.
Everything is open and airy at GlowDy. Right behind the check-in desk is the beverage station. Coffee or tea, cucumber water, wine and champagne, and a small bite to eat, Paige and her staff have thought of everything!
There is attention to detail is evident throughout the space. This beautiful painting by local artist Kristen Giorgi is hung on the wall in the wash area, which gives your eyes a pleasant, relaxing place to rest as your hair is shampooed. And, it is not just a quick shampoo and you are done at GlowDry, each shampoo comes with a complimentary scalp massage. We relax just thinking about it.
For hair products, Paige and her team only use products that are paraben and sulfate free. They have found both the Living Proof hair care line and the Sachajuan line to not only be healthy product to use on your hair, but also products that work well.
And GlowDry is not just a blowout salon. Paige made GlowDry a one-stop shop by adding a make-up counter as well. A make-up artist is always at the salon and they offer a wide range of services including the full face, or just eyes, or brow shaping. And the best part, a makeup touch up is free with a blowout! Paige and her team truly want you to leave feeling your best with a smile on your face.
Paige has paid such attention to detail to her space that even the bathrooms are pretty. We just had to include a picture because we think they are just as lovely as the rest of the space!
And while Paige knew she wanted to create a space were people could pop in before a night out, she also really wanted to make sure she catered to our busy lives. The salon opens at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, and it stays open till 7 p.m during the week and 8 p.m on Friday. And GlowDry is running a fabulous giveaway right now. Come in five times during the month of March and be eligible to win one blowout a week for a year!
