The Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood is the lucky recipient of Nashville’s newest (and insanely gorgeous) go-to for home design. Dripping in texture, color, and all things design savvy, Schumacher‘s new combination showroom and luxury boutique is a unique fusion of high-end goods and interior design elements that manages to be at once opulent and accessible. StyleBlueprint’s Founder, Liza Graves, said it best: “I want to live IN the showroom!”

It’s slated to open later this month — and we got a sneak preview!

Editor’s Note: Great news! Just a few hours after this article was published (go figure!), Schumacher was cleared to officially open. You can visit the showroom and boutique TODAY!

Though they’re still putting on the finishing touches — a little paint here, a dedicated library room there — we’re chomping at the bit for a chance to shop the luxe fabrics and lusciously patterned wall coverings that have made the Schumacher brand such an unparalleled tastemaker since its inception in 1889. And oh, the imported wares! Think thick coffee table books from France with page after page of vibrant style inspiration and an ornate 19th-century Italian trunk with a hide exterior.

Frederic Schumacher was a trendsetter and a masterful businessman, and now Nashville is getting a taste of his legacy. Grasscloths, and textiles, and pottery, oh my! Whether you lean on traditional pieces that transcend time or have an affinity for sculptural chic, you won’t be disappointed — particularly given that Schumacher is a world-renowned source for everything from whimsical wall coverings to antique furniture. In fact, the company can be credited with redefining the interior design landscape with memorable makeovers at such stately and iconic landmarks as New York City’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel and the White House circa the Roosevelt era (1902). And now Music City gets to claim a Schumacher showroom of its own.

“Frederic was French,” Schumacher’s Creative Director Dara Caponigro tells me, “so many of our pieces are from France.” Other fabulous imports include decadent fabric pillows from Turkey and a dining collection from Finland.

So why Nashville, you ask? Schumacher’s Creative Director, the inimitable Dara Caponigro, answered that perfectly, telling me, “Nashville is all about style; it’s design-obsessed.” We couldn’t agree more … And this is just the beginning if Schumacher has anything to say about it!
