Check Out Pepper Place’s Newest Lunch Spot: The Mustard Club
Birmingham’s Pepper Place has a new lunch destination to add to your list. Check out The Mustard Club! Image: Erin Wilson
If you’re looking for a new summer lunch spot in Birmingham, add the Mustard Club in Pepper Place to your list. Located in the historic shopping and design district, the Mustard Club is owned and operated by Chefs Chris and Anna Newsome, previous owners of Mountain Brook favorite Ollie Irene.

The space is minimalist with warm touches of, of course, mustard and wood tones. An antique bar occupies the front of the house, with small bistro tables and a large dining room, giving it a bustling feel. While it’s only open Monday through Friday for now, Chef Newsome hopes to open on Saturdays soon.

From delicious “Le Ham and Cheese” sandwiches and colorful salads to sparkling alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, the Mustard Club is an ideal spot to take a long lunch during the workday or for a special birthday celebration during the week.
Our tip? Order two or three different sandwiches to sample with your table, and ask for their secret-menu burger. For more details, visit their website.
