This method makes removing peach skin SO EASY! You won’t lose any delicious fruit when peeling or cutting it off. It’s perfect for making cobblers, crumbles, ice cream, or canning peaches.
Just blanch in boiling water for 30 seconds. (Yes, the video says “Blanche” just like the Golden Girls … but it’s “blanch” no “e” — our Grammar Guru is going to be so upset when she sees this.)
Remove and immediately place in an ice bath for 2-3 minutes. The skin should peel right off. If it doesn’t, try scoring the skin.
Another option if the peel is not removing easily (if peaches aren’t fully ripe, this doesn’t work well!): place back in boiling water for another 10-15 seconds, and repeat ice bath.
