This family-run hotel, originally opened in 1886, is steeped in history from the classic furnishings to its roster of esteemed guests. Literary legends like William Faulkner, Tennesee Williams, Eudora Welty and Ernest Hemingway stayed at Hotel Monteleone, and Hemingway mentioned the Carousel Bar in his short story The Night Before Battle, so it’s interesting to note that the Hemingway penthouse is located in the section of the hotel that once housed Union Troops. This unique suite with dual balconies offers both city and French Quarter views and is adjacent to the rooftop pool and fitness center. The penthouse main bedroom has a king bed with an optional connecting guest room. The marble and granite bathroom includes a garden tub and separate glass shower, and the suite features a wet bar, refrigerator, ice maker and other upscale amenities.
Presidential Suite | The Peabody Memphis in Memphis, TN

The Peabody Memphis is vintage elegance at its finest, and the presidential suite is a stunning example. The suite sits privately on a key-controlled floor with spectacular views of downtown Memphis, a dedicated concierge, welcome wine, continental breakfast, afternoon snacks, evening hors d’oeuvres, turndown pastries and valet parking. In addition to the stunning decor and in-room amenities, explore the bevy of shops on the famous, historied lobby level … Elvis, of course, being The Peabody’s most-loved customer. And lest we forget to mention the ducks. What first started as a drunken joke by a hotel manager in 1933 became a storied tradition. The Peabody ducks are guided from their luxurious rooftop home down an elevator and through the main lobby to the fountain where they bathe and relax until the Peabody Duckmaster returns them at night. The twice-daily marching of the ducks draws a crowd. Stick The Peabody on your bucket list, and choose one of their many impressive suites for your next getaway or staycation.
