Some gals pore over makeup tutorials and rack up Sephora points like crazy. Me? I’m all about the hair. I have long, coarse, wavy hair (that can’t decide if it actually wants to be wavy). I’ve kissed a lot of frogs when it comes to hair products, but there are a few on my bathroom shelf that I am LOVING right now. Try them out, and thank me later.

Pritech Dual-Voltage Hair Dryer Brush
I recently purchased this Pritech Dryer Brush ($31.19) because I needed a dual-voltage air styler that I can take on European vacations without blowing out the outlets or frying the tool. (A rookie mistake … which I have made.) This styler is similar to the viral Revlon One-Step Blowout Brush — which I have also tried and liked — but the Pritech has a wider barrel, making it a better pick for my long, thick hair.
After a couple of uses, I’m SO impressed by how quickly it works and how sleek and shiny it leaves my hair. It doesn’t immediately achieve the same body as my air styler (more on that later), but I’m confident I can figure out how to account for that with a little more practice. Overall, this is a great dual-voltage option for overseas travel, and it may just become your everyday go-to, depending on your preferred style.
IGK Expensive Hair Clear Gloss Top Coat
I shouted out this IGK hair gloss ($34) in the most recent installment of the SB Hot List, but it’s worth another mention. This can be used in place of your conditioner as often as you’d like, but I generally use it about once a week and before fun events. It should sit a bit longer than your standard conditioner, but it does just what the name suggests — it leaves your hair ultra glossy and shiny, and I think it helps to seal in your style, too.
RMS Humidity Seal
This anti-humidity finishing spray ($25.50) is great if you tend to frizz in humid conditions, but it’s a nice finisher even when it’s not humid. It helps to set your style and will even provide a bit of added texture and shine if you spray it onto your hands and work it into the hair, rather than just misting it all over.
When I offer this up to friends to try, they always comment that they’ve never heard of the brand, but they become quick fans. This product was initially given to me by a salon stylist about a decade ago, and I keep coming back to it. One can of this stuff lasts a LONG time, so it’s worth the investment if you struggle with humidity!
R+Co Hot Spell Blowout Balm
Just like you need your SPF for sun exposure, you should use a heat protectant when you heat-style your hair. This Hot Spell Blowout Balm ($34) leaves your hair sleek and bouncy after blow-drying, without being tacky with residue, which can happen with some heat protectants. A little goes a long way — I usually dry my hair in sections and put a tiny bit on each large section before hitting it with any heat. And, R+Co products always smell so good!
L’Brise Paris Air Wrap Hair Styler
As I mentioned before, I ruined one of these bad boys on a trip to Scotland (total rookie mistake). But I loved it so much, I bought the newer model. This is an excellent Dyson Air Wrap dupe at a much more reasonable price point.
It works best for me if I use the blow dryer attachment until my hair is barely damp, and then go back over my hair with the curling attachment. There’s definitely a learning curve for use, but there are plenty of how-to videos online and on social media. Once you master it, this will become your go-to for a salon-style blowout.
It’s available for $129 on Amazon, or you can find the complete styling set with multiple attachments on the L’Brise website (currently marked down to $237).
Conair Rose Gold Titanium Curling Wand
While I’m definitely on a blowout kick these days, I’ll never abandon beachy waves for good. After having tried a wide variety of high-end styling wands, I can say that this super budget-friendly Conair pick is my favorite. Like an air styler, a curling wand requires some practice if you’re used to using a curling iron with a clamp, but I’ll never go back. Wands with tapered ends allow me to create a beachy, undone look that I often prefer over perfectly-coiffed curls. (I even straighten the tips sometimes to intensify that effect!)
