When regular walks feel too hot to handle, the dog parks in Birmingham offer the perfect escape to keep your four-footed friend active and cool. Whether your dog loves splashing near waterfalls, running off-leash, or socializing while you enjoy a drink at a dog park bar, the Magic City has everything your pup needs for a tail-waggin’ good time.
Good Dog Bar & Dog Park

Good Dog Bar & Dog Park is the perfect spot for you and your canine BFF. The off-leash, fenced, 14,000-square-foot park features turf-covered indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as a full bar for the humans to enjoy. Complete with trained dog handlers, this rain-or-shine dog park donates 1% of all bar sales to local animal charities.

Good Dog also offers a membership option with unlimited park access, a members-only entry line, Yappy Hours, and a built-in community of fellow dog lovers. Non-members can purchase a day pass. To visit, owners must create an account, sign a dog park agreement, and provide proof of vaccinations. All dogs must be at least eight months old and spayed or neutered.
Hoover Dog Park at Loch Haven Park

Hoover Dog Park is nestled in the suburbs and offers a fenced, off-leash area for small and large dogs, a canine obstacle course, and a nearby sandy creek for splashing. If you opt for an on-leash experience, take your dogs on the 0.4-mile walking track at Loch Haven.
Remy’s Dog Park at Red Mountain Park

Southern Living named Remy’s Dog Park at Red Mountain Park one of the “10 Greatest Southern Dog Parks,” and it certainly lives up to its reputation. Spanning six acres, the park features shaded areas, benches, and open spaces for running and fetching. Located 0.11 miles from Red Mountain Park’s entrance, Remy’s is home to three dog parks — one for small dogs, one for large dogs, and one for special needs dogs.
SB Tip: Grab a slice of pizza at Pizzeria G.M., or a hot dog and fries at Sneaky Pete’s — both just minutes from the park’s entrance.

Cahaba Beach Dog Park

Cahaba Beach Dog Park is not your typical dog park. A private option for dog owners, it offers a completely fenced-in, three-acre leash-free zone with tunnels, ramps, trails, and water for your pup to play in. All the trails are environmentally friendly and paved with recycled red rock. The main feature is the beach, which offers a waterfall and a shallow pool for your pets to enjoy. There are also separate areas for small dogs.

All dogs must be screened for temperament before entering the park and be up to date on vaccinations. Dogs must also be spayed or neutered and at least seven months old. With a “safety first” motto, the park’s regulations are designed to help keep both pets and their owners happy and healthy.
Cahaba River Walk Park

Cahaba River Walk Park spans five acres and, in addition to its dog park, offers a 0.2-mile paved walking trail, a gathering pavilion, and exercise equipment. Located along the river, it’s the perfect spot for swimming with your pets, fishing, and rafting. The quaint dog park was the first of its kind in Mountain Brook, and it’s open to dogs of all sizes. Pets are allowed to be off-leash inside the 0.5-acre fenced area.
Cahaba Dog Park: Trussville

Cahaba Dog Park is Trussville’s first off-leash dog park (funded solely by donations). With almost an acre of fenced-in space and separate areas for small and large dogs, the prime location makes it easy to grab a bite to eat nearby. Order a beer at Ferus Artisan Ales or a sandwich at Edgar’s Bakery — both located just minutes from the park.
Jemison Trail Dog Park

Jemison Trail Dog Park opened in Mountain Brook just a few years ago. The mini dog park features a double-gated entrance, a dog water fountain, and benches for owners to take a break. You can also bring your dog (on a leash) to Jemison Trail for one-on-one time.
Green Springs Dog Park at George Ward Park

Green Springs Dog Park at George Ward Park offers 2.6 acres of fenced green space. With separate areas for small and large dogs, plus a co-mingling section, it’s a great place for pups to safely run and play.
Beyond the dog park, visitors can find tennis courts, disc golf, and shaded spots perfect for walking or picnicking. Dogs are welcome on-leash at George Ward Park or off-leash at Green Springs Dog Park. Either way, a full day here is sure to leave your pup happily worn out.

The Barkery at City Walk BHAM

The Barkery at City Walk is a membership-only on-leash dog park with fenced areas for both small and large dogs. With 50,000 square feet of space, it includes water features, dog-friendly park equipment, and even an area for friendly dog competitions.

Pelham Dog Park
