Jake Tidmore occasionally flips houses that have theΒ potential to be phenomenal. So, when the full-time realtor with RE/MAX Premier Properties came across this classic white brick abode nestled between the lush charms of Cherokee Gardens and Crescent Hill and with a prime view of Seneca Park, he knew it was brimming with possibilities.

When Jake first bought this home, his family had no intention of making it their own. He takes pride in the fact that he only flips houses in a way that he would love, so, along the way, Jake and his wife, Claire, began to realize they had unintentionally created their dream home. This four-bedroom family home β€” complete with a fenced-in backyard for the family dog, a patio for relaxing and entertaining, spaces for their daughters to play and a to-die-for location β€” simply captured their hearts. So they set out to craft the home to fit their personal style and functional needs.

Jake and Claire knew they wanted a traditional-style home that emphasized classic elements and functionality. With two little girls, it was important to the couple to have a family-oriented, open layout that encourages togetherness. Fifty windows allow natural light to flood the shared spaces, creating an open and airy feel, which is one of their favorite things about the home. Right off of the family’s luminous, white marble kitchen is a play area for daughters Eleanor and Kennedy, so their parents can keep an eye on them while cooking. But that is not the only element of this house centered around their daughters.

The family spends most of their time in the hearth room, where leather chairs allow Eleanor and Kennedy to play without worry of staining or damage. It was important to the Tidmores to create a home that they could make their own in every way β€” children, furry friends and fuss-free quality time spent together. Above the classic leather chairs,Β an eye-catching statement wall of family portraits captures this fun-loving family.

Both Jake and Claire work full-time, so they brought in Claire’s close friend Bailey Pitts of Bailey at Home to assist with the finishing touches. Bailey’s vision perfectly coincided with the couple’s in that they wanted to play on the home’s naturally timeless style while making it fresh and personal. They trusted Bailey’s lead entirely, which made taking exciting risks that much easier. With the three friends working together, it was a seamless collaboration.

Since the floor plan is so open, Bailey ensured that there was a clear continuation of color and style throughout the Tidmore home. β€œThe powder room wallpaper was one of the first things we selected, so the color scheme took off from there,” she says. β€œI like to bring a fresh take on traditional while keeping fun colors and patterns, but not overdoing it.” Shades of muted red, stately navy and crisp white are sprinkled into each room, with gold accents and greenery complementing the color scheme.

One of the couple’s favorite parts of their family home is the living room. The serene white walls, sleek geometric tables and contemporary art make the space feel modern, while the familiar lines of the fireplace, subtle color scheme and ornately gilded accents nod to a more traditional style. From the living room, you can see the dining room as well as the hearth room, which creates a comfortable and open feel and maintains that sense of connection.
