The Many Variations of Long Stitch Bookbinding

Belmont University’s Watkins Community Education invites participants to create a stunning collection of handbound books on July 26-27, 2025. This workshop explores decorative long-stitch binding techniques, allowing attendees to craft eye-catching patterns along the book spines and experiment with closures like buttons, tabs, and wraps. Using Cave Paper covers and colorful waxed linen thread, each handmade book will be approximately 3” x 5”, perfect for a sketchbook or journal. Open to all skill levels, with all materials provided. Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, July 27, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $140. Learn more HERE.
