84th Annual Iroquois Steeplechase
The 84th Annual Iroquois Steeplechase, sponsored by Bank of America, returns to Percy Warner Park on May 10, bringing thrilling horse racing, high fashion, and a vibrant social scene to Nashville! Known as the city’s “Rite of Spring,” this iconic event attracts over 25,000 spectators and boasts total purses of $535,000, making it the richest event on the National Steeplechase Association spring circuit.
Steeplechase offers a variety of premium experiences, including the all-inclusive Hunt Club and the lively Royal 615, known as Nashville’s hottest trackside party. Tailgating spaces are also available for those looking to celebrate with friends and family, while Steeplechase Central grants general admission access to food trucks, shopping, and social areas. A dedicated Family Area ensures fun for younger guests with inflatables, face painting, and more.
Gates open at 8:30 a.m., with tailgating kicking off the festivities before the official opening ceremonies at noon. The day’s events include six exhilarating races, the Style Contest, Tailgating Contest, Stick Pony Races for kids, and the Parade of Hounds, all culminating in a spectacular display of equestrian excellence.
As a philanthropic tradition, the Iroquois Steeplechase has raised over $11 million for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, along with other beneficiaries such as The Foundation for the Horse and Friends of Warner Parks. To encourage responsible enjoyment, each tailgating spot includes a complimentary Designated Driver ticket, and ride-share options are available.
