Maker Construction
Maker Construction is a Nashville residential builder focused on luxury new homes and large-scale renovations, including historic renovations. Founded in 2020 by Troy Stackhouse with partners Chase McGillis and Ryan Stringfellow, the company stays intentionally small (a team of seven) so principals stay close to every project.
What sets Maker apart is that blend of intimacy and rigor. Clients get a true partnership with the people building their home. At the same time, the team leans into building science, durability, and clean craftsmanship so the house performs as beautifully as it looks. Troy’s father, a lifelong craftsman, still works with the company part-time, which says a lot about the standards they maintain on-site.
Maker’s work spans thoughtful new construction and ambitious renovations across Nashville’s neighborhoods. The through line is care: clear communication, obsessive detail, strong relationships with crews, and homes built to last.
SB Tip
If you want a builder who’s personally engaged from week one through move-in, and who is equally comfortable with a historic renovation or a ground-up luxury home, Maker is built for that kind of client. Ask about how they approach building science and pre-construction planning; that is where a lot of their calm, well-planned process lives.
