What to Wear to Some of June’s Top Events
To celebrate summer, we've got fabulous looks for June's most exciting events, modeled by a couple of the U.S. Women's Open team members at gorgeous Shoal Creek.
June will be here next week, Birmingham! Can you believe weβre nearly halfway through 2018? Itβs officially time to celebrate the arrival of summer in the Magic City, and this June there are plenty of fantastic events to get you excited for the season. For this edition of βWhat to Wear,β we pulled style suggestions fromΒ two of our favorite local boutiques, The Clothes Tree by Deborah and Zoco Boutique, to inspire your fashion choices for three fabulous upcoming events:Β Slicefest, Art on the Rocks and the U.S. Womenβs Open Championship at Shoal Creek.
Todayβs models are two hardworking ladies from theΒ USGA who are helping to make this yearβs U.S. Womenβs Open a hole-in-one. Jenna Harmer is this yearβs Championship Coordinator. She oversees and manages the day-to-day operations of the volunteer program, a 1,000+ group who will assist with the duties of over 17 volunteer committees throughout the championship weekend. βThis is so exciting not only for the state and for the city of Birmingham, but also for a place like Shoal Creek that has such rich championship golf history,β says Jenna. βI am extremely proud and honored to be a part of this team, and I look forward to what I know is going to be a fantastic week of golf for the players, fans, volunteers and everyone else involved.β

Player Services intern Taylor Holly will assist with the player registration process as well as player hospitality. Essentially, Taylor is the go-to girl for answering any questions about the surrounding area, the championship play and will offer support to all 156 of this yearβs golfers. βI am really excited to see a big world championship come to Alabama and make history, especially with it being the U.S. Womenβs Open Championship,β Taylor shares. βI think that our volunteers are going to make this year extra special. They are really wanting to show everyone just how great Birmingham and Alabama are, as well as showing true Southern hospitality.β
Our stunning backdrop is the idyllic Shoal Creek Community, where the Womenβs Open will take place. This luxurious community was founded 40 years ago with a world-class golf course at its center. Now, with more than 100 residences, Shoal Creek is an enclave of walking trails, lakes for fishing and kayaking, state-of-the-art horse stables and stunning move-in ready homes, including in the beautiful new development, Troon Hamlet, which we had the opportunity to explore during this photo shoot.
