August is DOG MONTH! Adoptions, Drives & Events on the TN Whiskey Trail
The Tennessee Whiskey Trail is hosting pet adoptions, supply drives, and dog-friendly events throughout August. Here’s where to raise a glass and support a great cause. Image: Tennessee Whiskey Trail
This August, the Tennessee Whiskey Trail raises a glass (and a paw) to our four-legged friends to celebrate National Dog Month. In partnership with local pet adoption centers, several distilleries along the Trail are hosting on-site adoption events and supply drives to help dogs find their forever homes — all while toasting Tennessee’s signature spirit.

The events are a spirited extension of the Trail’s ongoing “Pawsport” program, which connects more than 20 dog-friendly distilleries across Tennessee. With pup-loving perks and cozy patio spaces, the Trail has become a go-to for travelers who prefer to bring their dogs along for their adventures.
Dog lovers can get involved in a few key ways. For example, Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery in Nashville hosts an on-site pet adoption event on Saturday, August 3, in partnership with Pittie in Pink, a local foster-based rescue.
Leiper’s Fork Distillery in Franklin collects much-needed supplies all month to benefit Williamson County Animal Center and the Humane Society of Williamson County. Guests are encouraged to drop off pet food, toys, and other necessities during their visit.

Additional participating distilleries include Brushy Mountain Distillery (Petros), Old Glory Distilling Co. (Clarksville), Old Forge Distillery (Pigeon Forge), and Sugarlands Distilling Co. (Gatlinburg), with events scheduled throughout the month.
To sweeten the deal, every dog adopted through these events receives a special “Whiskey Wag Pack” filled with treats, toys, and essentials — all courtesy of the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, Visit Franklin, and Visit Knoxville.
If you’re looking to add a furry friend to your family or simply want to support a great cause, this is the perfect excuse to hit the Trail. For a complete list of participating locations and event updates, visit tnwhiskeytrail.com.
Happy National Dog Month!
