Memphis chef and chocolatier Phillip Ashley Rix is renowned worldwide for handcrafted chocolates that are as artistic as they are delicious. Today, we’re sharing three of his favorite cookie recipes, straight from the pages of his new cookbook, For the Love of Chocolate: 80 At-Home Recipes from a Master Chocolatier’s Imagination. From Memphis Grizzlies-inspired flavors to a chocolate chip cookie that just won’t quit, these recipes are guaranteed to earn you a few fans of your own.

When you have guests to impress, this cookie is the one. Studded with dark chocolate chips, dried cranberries, and chopped walnuts, the base recipe alone is plenty delicious —  but the kicker is the creamy cheesecake filling. Get the recipe HERE.

‘Da Grizzness’ Chocolate Chunk Cookies with Bacon, Pecans, and Brown Butter

This recipe is a take on one of Phillip Ashley’s signature chocolate bonbons, Da Grizzness. (And yes, it’s a nod to the Memphis Grizzlies.) These cookies are laced with sweet chocolate chips, savory bacon crumbles, nutty toasted pecans, and plenty of chewy texture thanks to rolled oats. Get the recipe HERE.

“This is the chocolate chip cookie’s fancier cousin, the one you bring to a party when you’re really trying to show off,” says Phillip Ashley. And you can see why. Imagine chocolate chip cookie dough, prepped and portioned by a master chocolatier and then rolled in even more chocolate chips. Sounds hard to beat, right? Get the recipe HERE.
