We all talk about planning weddings, but what about the proposal? While the ask is usually just a one-sided plan, it is a crucial part of the story nonetheless.
Not only can you hire a wedding planner, you can hire a proposal planner as well. The groom-to-be featured below did just that, scripting a perfect proposal in Central Park for his bride-to-be.
Fabian wanted to do something extra special when he proposed to his girlfriend Keryn. He decided that he wanted to propose to her in Central Park and he knew that he wanted it to be a grand affair. He hired proposal planner Go Get It Events to help with the myriad details and planning.

After a brainstorming session, Fabian decided to surprise her by singing to her publicly. While Fabian and Keryn flew from their home in Australia to New York, the proposal planner started putting the plan together, hiring the band, holding rehearsals and booking actors.
On the night of the proposal, Fabian suggested that he and Keryn walk through Central Park. While they were passing Bethesda Fountain, they came upon a duo singing in the park. When the group announced they wanted to take volunteers from the audience, Fabian didn’t raise his hand. The band then brought him in front of the crowd, which consisted of paid actors and then grew to include tourists and New Yorkers walking by. Feigning embarrassment, Fabian attempted to rap the song “Gold Digger” until it became so bad, the band stopped. Everyone laughed and Keryn was none the wiser that this was all staged.

The band then asked Fabian if he knew anything else they could play and he whispered “their song” to them. Keryn was shocked when he turned to her and started singing, “You Don’t Know Me,” by Ray Charles, but she still had no idea what was in store.

Slowly, six “members” of the crowd stepped forward one by one and picked up instruments and began to play with the band. When Fabian finished the song, the crowd went wild with applause and he brought Keryn in front of everyone.

He gave a very moving speech to Keryn and then dropped to one knee and opened up the box that contained the ring.

Naturally, she said yes. She then thanked the crowd for being such a great part of her special moment.

A lot of New Yorkers got lucky that day – it’s not every day that one gets to accidentally be a part of someone’s proposal.

Keryn told Fabian she felt like she was in a movie, and that the entire experience was surreal and perfect.
