Since 1910, The Hermitage Hotel has been a beloved Nashville treasure and remains a constant standout in a sea of constantly changing local establishments. Located in the heart of downtown Nashville, the cherished landmark has remained a top-rated establishment for generations, both for its award-winning dining and accommodations, but also for hosting iconic events.
The hotel’s rich history, coupled with its 5-star service teams, make it a beautiful, award-winning centerpiece for celebrations and events of all kinds. With a space this beautiful, naturally weddings immediately come to mind — and rightly so. But Carly Spielvogel, Director of Catering and Conference Services for the hotel, says many people turn to the hotel and its flexible event spaces to host much more than just the main event. “We can accommodate an array of events leading up to a wedding; a small elopement, bridal brunch, a groomsman bourbon tasting, a rehearsal dinner, all the way up to a full hotel buy-out wedding with a reception of up to 450 people.”
Italian sienna marble, a painted glass ceiling in the vaulted lobby and luxe furnishings are just a few of the gorgeous characteristics that combine to create a breathtaking backdrop for any event. With its impeccably beautiful detail, most of the design and decorating work is already done for you. “One of the things our guests love the most about having their event at The Hermitage Hotel is that they don’t have to worry with bringing in much décor,” Carly says.
Whether you choose the Veranda, with its sky-painted ceilings and flood of natural light (with an added bonus view of the Capitol building), or the 2,500-square-foot Grand Ballroom, with its original circadian walnut paneling and century-old chandeliers, the ambiance speaks for itself and the venue is completely turnkey.

When it comes to planning and executing a wedding, the convenience factor shouldn’t be overlooked — and The Hermitage Hotel checks all the boxes for its guests. “From the initial time guests come and see the property, all the way to the final execution, we are there to help guide them every step of the way,” Carly says. From floor plans and décor to timelines and transportation, the hotel and its incredible staff make the entire process run smoothly and efficiently so you can actually enjoy your event.
“We include all tables, chairs, upgraded linens, cutlery, staff, food and beverages for the events we host,” Carly continues. “And anything we can’t provide, we will help you find it or make trusted vendor recommendations.”
The hotel also offers the added convenience of a luxurious place for guests to stay, with its custom-made beds, Italian marble bathrooms and in-room pillow menu — not to mention the wide range of professional spa services like Swedish massage and mud wraps. They also offer guest room suites where bridal parties and other wedding participants can get ready on the day of.
Another advantage to booking at The Hermitage Hotel: location, location, location. The hotel is just a short walk to Broadway and the historic Ryman Auditorium, and it’s adjacent to TPAC and the State Capitol, making it easy for guests to step right outside their door and see what makes Nashville so unique and fun.
Arguably the most important part of any event is the food and drinks, and The Hermitage spares no expense. The hotel boasts a culinary tradition of excellence, offering creative interpretations of traditional Southern recipes and farm-fresh cuisine. “We own and operate the garden at Glen Leven, about 15 minutes away from the hotel, so most of our produce and herbs come from there,” Carly says.
Anything outside of that, the hotel tries to source locally, as part of their sustainable farming project with The Land Trust for Tennessee. “We have an amazing partnership where we donate a portion of proceeds back to The Land Trust, which goes into the preservation of the farming land here in Tennessee,” Carly explains.

Regardless of the type of cuisine, the hotel can accommodate tastes of all kinds. Your menu doesn’t have to consist of the standard filet and lobster meal — “We once did a 150-person all-vegan wedding,” Carly says. The hotel also offers personable touches to make your event memorable, from specialty cocktails to unique treats for guests to take home with them. “We want to be creative and innovative!” she continues. “Your food and beverage options are 100% customizable and specific to your event. And if there’s a special family recipe you want us to include, we can even do that.”
Lastly, Carly highlights another important aspect unique to The Hermitage Hotel and the way they work with their clients. “One thing people don’t necessarily realize about us is that we can host most every size event, and we have flexibility within budgets.” She adds that if you’re open and flexible in your plans, such as holding your event on a Friday, Sunday or even midweek, then the hotel can absolutely customize and tailor a specific package for that.
Now more so than ever there is an influx of options when it comes to choosing an event location in Music City, but Carly explains how The Hermitage Hotel is the obvious choice: “If you’re looking for 5-Star service, high-quality food and beverage, and a breathtaking venue and ambiance, The Hermitage Hotel can more than accommodate that.”
