Birmingham is getting ready for a beautiful weekend in early October for the 20th Annual Antiques at the Gardens. Gala seats might be sold out, but you can still get tickets to attend the weekend-long event to check out vendors from across the country, walk through botanical displays, and support the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.

If it has been a while since you visited, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens has been offering our city 67 acres of gardens and outdoor trails to enjoy since 1962. If you’re interested in plants, they offer classes, workshops, and even trivia nights to help Birmingham botanists connect and learn more. We love their “What’s in Bloom?” webpage, where you can plan your visit around different areas of the Gardens and what you might see while you’re there. They also offer a free seed exchange program.
While partially funded by the City of Birmingham, the Gardens also depends on organizations and nonprofits to support its educational programs and supplement its care. To support the Gardens, the Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens began Antiques at the Gardens 20 years ago. Now, the event brings dozens of leaders in the design, art, and botanical industries to Birmingham each year to support the Gardens in style.

From its kick-off gala to a weekend full of lectures, shopping, book signings, and floral workshops, Antiques at the Gardens is a great way to spend time with friends and support a wonderful cause in Birmingham. This year’s design focuses on garden follies and chinoiserie, with vendors from all over the country showcasing antiques, art, vintage jewelry, decor, and more.
