This ooey, gooey mac and cheese recipe comes to us from the pages of Stand By Your Pan, by country artist and TikTok star Hannah Dasher. Her recipes are “packed with more flavor than a Prince album” and guaranteed to help you getchyo’ man (or keep him, whatever the case may be).

In the book, Hannah says: “This recipe, passed down from my grandmother and Aunt JoAnn, is soul sister approved. If you’re feelin’ extra, substitute two heaping cups of pimento cheese for the Velveeta. You’re dang welcome.”

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp garlic powder, divided
  • 16 oz uncooked elbow pasta
  • 8 oz Velveeta or other pasteurized cheese product
  • 8 oz cream cheese one block
  • 1/2 stick salted butter, melted 1/4 cup
  • 2 12-ounce cans evaporated milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 16 oz shredded mozzarella cheese, divided 2 cups
  • 16 oz freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided 2 cups

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat, and add 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder. Add the pasta and cook for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, cut the Velveeta and cream cheese into small cubes so they melt easily when you stir in the hot pasta. Add the Velveeta and cream cheese cubes to a large mixing bowl, along with the melted butter and remaining 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, and set aside.
  • Once pasta is done, drain it and add the hot pasta to the mixing bowl. Stir gently until the cheeses have melted and coated the pasta.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk the evaporated milk and eggs until combined, and pour into the pasta mixture. Mix gently. Pour one half of the pasta mixture in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle on 1 cup mozzarella and 1 cup cheddar. Pour on the remaining pasta mixture and top with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar
  • Bake until the top is golden and bubbling, about 40 to 45 minutes. Serve hot.
