Sunset riverside dining just got more flavorful. Take a left at the roundabout on Mud Island to discover Carlee McCullough’s newest restaurant, Mahogany River Terrace. Offering upscale casual dining, this restaurant brings new life to beloved Mud Island. You’ll find unparalleled views of the Mississippi River and a gorgeous dining room with ample seating for large parties.

If you’re looking for a beautiful space to host a rehearsal dinner, this is it. The food is upscale dining with a nod to southern tradition. Also, there are plenty of Instagram worthy areas for taking pictures with friends. If you’re wondering what to order, the chef recommends trying the salmon and sea scallops entree.

The Archives Bistro

Downtown Memphis has a new exciting upscale casual dining option at The Archives Bistro, located in Hotel Napole0n. Chef Phillip Dewayne of Park + Cherry of the Dixon Gallery and Gardens, has put together a menu for The Archives that blends sophistication and true comfort that Memphis is known for. Located within walking distance of Riverside Drive, Hotel Napoleon is an excellent location for taking in the sights of downtown.

Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the Archives boasts an exciting menu of champagne caviar as well as comforting flatbreads and burgers. There’s something for everyone to enjoy while taking in the blend of modern and tradition that flows through everything from the decor to the cocktails and menu items.

Pizza Me 901

East Memphis has a new pizza place that is one of a kind. Pizza Me 901 offers specialty pizzas made to order in a flash. The pizza and salad bar are at the front of the restaurant where you can create your own pizza or salad. Through the back door near the register is a large dining room and bar that has a private feel with plenty of room for large parties.

Curtis Gibbons and Tevis Shaw have created a beautiful space for celebrating while offering personized pizza for everyone. Try the “Haven” with hood sauce, mozzarella cheese, fried chicken, and drizzled with ranch. Or if you want to make your own creation, they have tons of options available.

Swagath Indian Cuisine and Bar

Found in the shopping center just south of Malco Paradiso, Swagath Indian Cuisine and Bar in East Memphis offers lunch and dinner as well as cocktails. This modestly sized venue has somewhat limited parking in front, but is surprisingly comfortable inside.

Owner Sudheer Kanchi has provided a cozy space for diners to enjoy hearty portions and flavorful combinations. We suggest trying the amritsari tikka kebabs or the clay pot biryani, perfect for dinner and a movie.

La Roche

New to Midtown, La Roche brings Lebanese cuisine to Cooper St. Mounir El Merhabi and Arin El Mourabi have curated a comforting blend of good food and Lebanese hospitality in this beautiful restaurant. With blue velvet dining chairs, honey woodgrain tables, and beautifully paneled walls, the dining room gives a unique vibe.

For those crisp sunny afternoons in October, the patio offers a perfect setting for enjoying the fall weather while munching on Baklava and sipping tea. This is the perfect time to try their Turkish coffee or hot tea pot. The baba ghanouj, a delicious mixture of roasted eggplant, lemon, and tahini, offers a yummy start to lunch or dinner.

Kellie’s Deli

Tucked away at the corner of Tennessee St. and G. E. Patterson is a brand new deli, ready to satisfy your afternoon and evening cravings with lots of flavor and charm.  Kellie’s Deli offers a soups, sandwiches, salads and sweet treats. Try the turkey club and homemade cheesecake for a deeply satisfying experience.

Kellie Barksdale decided to open her deli to offer nearby residents a taste of comfort. She has extended her hours to 8 p.m. to accommodate those who work and live downtown a place to go when other delis are closed. Her soups are homemade and ready to warm the soul during the cooler autumn days.
