Flame Ramen

Authentic ramen in the heart of downtown? Yes, please! Local favorite Flame Ramen has opened a second location on Second Street. Satisfy your cravings for dumplings, bao buns, rice bowls, and of course, ramen in this fast-casual concept. Although the menu is simplified from the midtown location, youβll find Flame Ramenβs signature rich broth-based hot bowls β perfect for chillier weather.


French Truck Coffee

Memphians love their coffee! The third French Truck Coffee location has opened in the Orleans Station development β the perfect spot for the New Orleans-based company, conveniently located between the Edge and Medical Districts. As always, the menu offers artisan coffee, locally roasted in small batches for the highest quality brews. Favorites include the New Orleans Iced Coffee, a delicious concoction of coffee, chicory, and milk shaken together and served over ice. Youβll find lattes, cappuccinos, chais, Americanos, and more. If youβd like a little nosh to go with your beverage, try a yummy pastry, or order from the tasty breakfast or lunch menu β both are served all day.


Los Comales

Los Comales is now bringing an authentic taste of Mexico to the Edge District. The second location of the restaurant offers more seating β including a fun rooftop area. Youβll find a wide range of mouthwatering fare on the menu, including a rotating selection of daily specials. Locals love the enchiladas, tostadas, chimichangas, fajitas, tacos, quesadillas, and burritos, made with a variety of ingredients. Pair your meal with a top-shelf margarita and save room for dessert!

Plant Based Heat is the delightful restaurant that changed our view of how Southern comfort food can be prepared! Founded by former radio personality and entrepreneur Ralph βRJ Grooveβ Johnson, Plant-Based Heat brings their healthy, vegan, and totally delicious menu to downtown. Try one of their burgers β youβll never miss the meat β or an order of βVings,β vegan wings in a variety of flavors served with dipping sauce. The service is outstanding; you may even get a chance to chat with RJ himself!


The Sift Bakery

We just canβt get enough of The Sift Bakery and owner Lonisa βLalaβ Bowen! (You can read more about Lala as a FACE of Memphis here.) The bakery is known for deliciously elegant macarons that combine delicate texture with Lalaβs flair for unique flavors. This time of year, you might find Sugar Cookie, Christmas Cake, Hot Chocolate, and Candy Cane macarons alongside Strawberry, Lemon, and Birthday Cake. The new permanent brick-and-mortar location allows Lala to create other sweet treats as well.
