Halloweekend is upon us! Whether you plan to dress in costume or not, there’s plenty of seasonally-inspired fun to be had in Louisville. Appropriately, bars and restaurants around town are brewing up more than a few tempting cocktails that are sure to get you in the spirit of things. Check out a few of our favorites!

Where to Get Halloween Cocktails in Louisville

β€˜The Goblet of Fire’ at The 3 Broomsticks

A seasonal pop-up in residence at The Limbo Tiki Bar through October 31, The 3 Broomsticks offers an atmosphere that is perfect for making the most of the final days of spooky season. Along with plenty of witchy decor, you’ll find a selection of themed cocktails, including The Goblet of Fire, a flaming tiki cocktail made with bourbon cider, cinnamon, Hellfire bitters, and a shot of house-made cinnamon whiskey on the side. Not for the faint of heart.

β€˜The Blood Moon’ at The Hub

If you’re looking for something a bit more subtle, pay a visit to The Hub and order from their thoughtfully-designed seasonal cocktail menu. You’ll find cozy selections like the Pumpkin Spice Espresso Martini and the Autumn Sweater made with apple brandy, maple, and cinnamon β€” but if you’re partial to a more complex flavor profile, go with The Blood Moon, pictured here. It’s made with gin, blood orange juice, black pepper ginger syrup, St. Germain, and lemon.

β€˜The Frozen Zombie’ at The Merryweather

The Merryweather offers up a variety of fun cocktails, including their take on classic tiki drinks β€” like the Zombie, a notoriously strong, fruity (see also: dangerous), rum-based cocktail. They’ve got a frozen version ideal for enjoying on their outdoor patio if the weather cooperates!

The β€˜Red Bells’ at Darling’s

Carefully-crafted drinks designed to delight all of your senses and served in a dimly lit Art Nouveau cocktail bar … sounds like a solid way to spend some time after sunset on Halloween weekend, if you ask us. At Darling’s, try the Red Bells. The description itself sounds like a page from a spellbook: β€œAssorted apple and pear brandys from here and there, with some oxidized French red wines, stirred up with fresh fruit and mulling spices. And milk. But it’s all clarified, so just trust us. It’s velvety smooth and seasonally appropriate.”

Absolutely any of the seasonal cocktails at Trouble Bar …

Trouble Bar is known for its impressive selection of curated whiskey flights, along with an always-clever and delicious cocktail lineup. This time of year, they’re living up to their reputation with seasonal cocktails like the Harvest Moon (available as a single-serving or pitcher), featuring bourbon, black obsidian-infused five-spice honey syrup, and floral bitters. You read that right β€” obsidian! Quite a few of their cocktails include crystal infusion. In fact, the fall cocktail menu is printed with a notice: β€œEach of the cocktails on our menu this season is a small spell for harvesting everyday abundance for your love, luck, wellness & wisdom, brought to you with intention by our Potions Master Felicia and her Assistant Potions Master Bree.” How cool is that?
