Tell us a bit about your background and professional journey.
I am a Louisville native with 27 years of interior design experience. Starting off with a business degree, I quickly decided I wanted to be more creatively challenged, so I landed in interior design.
What is your design aesthetic, and how do you translate that to a clientβs home?
I love clean lines with a nod to classic styles. I love to create a collected look that is original and reflects the journey of my clients and their family.

Where are your favorite local spots to source decor for a clientβs home?
I love to see color coming back in fresh ways β nothing better than a lacquered library with a bold color or a wonderful grass cloth in an unexpected hue!

Are there any trends youβre loving at the moment, and, alternately, any timeless aspects of design that you cling to?
I love the timelessness of good architecture. A great room always starts with good bones.
What has been your most challenging project to date and why?
I think the most challenging project was for my client moving to Sydney, Australia. Moving furnishings across the world is quite a task.

What brings you the most professional joy?
The day you see your client and their family really living in and enjoying the space you created is a moment of pure joy!
How does Louisvilleβs design scene differ from the rest of the country?
Louisville has an interesting design scene. Being the gateway to the South and the Commonwealthβs largest city, the design here is a perfect mix of Southern graciousness and urban modernity.
Where do you get your inspiration?
I love to travel. You always find inspiration in seeing new places and cultures. You canβt help but bring the new things you see into the design aesthetic.

Who have been your industry mentors and role models and why?
Iβve always loved Albert Hadley, Juan Montoya and Michael Smithβs work.
Also, I love what Miles Redd is doing and find inspiration daily from Douglas Riddle, the CEO of Bittners in Louisville. Heβs effortlessly chic.

What are your predictions for interior design in the next 10 to 15 years?
I predict people will be living in smaller homes with less of a footprint. So choosing furnishings wisely and good space planning will be very important.
If you could squeeze your design philosophy into five words, what would they be?
Clean. Timeless. Vibrant. Easy. Happy.
Thank you to Ron WolzΒ for continuing to inspire us through thoughtful design.
