September is a month for easing away from the long, hot days of summer into the crisp comfort of autumn. And by now, it’s a welcome shift. We’re celebrating this transitional month with a fresh crop of Nashville FINDS for freshening up our homes, wardrobes, tailgate setups … there are even a few cute FINDS for our furry friends.
CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES
Ballet flats
Dainty, comfortable flats are here to stay for fall 2024. This blush-and-pearl pair works well for dressing up jeans and a white tank, and they work equally well for dressier occasions when you can’t be bothered with a pair of heels. Find them at e.Allen in The Gulch for $125!
Woven muscle tank
The sweater tank is a perennial favorite for the transitional weeks bridging summer and fall. It’s a great relaxed option for those still-warm days with just the slightest hint of a chill in the air, and it pairs beautifully with a jacket when the chill becomes more pronounced. Also available in olive green and navy stripes, you can find it at Oak Hall for $148.
Leather mules
Another favorite go-to for this time of year — leather mules! This style, featuring a comfy 2.5-inch stacked heel, is available in four colors: white, black, almond, and this rich brandy shade that just screams fall. Find them at Nisolo for $129 (marked down from $170!).
Denim skirt
Long denim skirts are still enjoying a moment in the spotlight, and we’re taking full advantage. This button-down style with front pockets is a fun spin on the trend and can be easily dressed up or down. Find it at The Mill in Green Hills for $68.
Convertible clutch
While cognac leather is wonderfully neutral, this clutch’s square silhouette makes it stand out. Plus, it comes with a detachable strap, so you can wear it as a crossbody bag, too. Find it at ABLE for $109 (currently marked down from $168).
HOME DECOR
Brie warmer set
Take your cheese and charcuterie display to the next level with this clever brie-warming set. You can set it on top of your charcuterie board to add depth, or even buy two or three to use them as centerpieces for dinner parties! The three-piece kit comes with a granite pedestal, cheese knife, and votive candle holder. Find it at The Wreath Stand in Berry Hill for $35.
Turkish rug pillow covers
GasLamp Antiques and GasLamp Too offer a treasure trove of FINDS, and you could easily pass an entire afternoon wandering from booth to booth. But if you’re in the market for ornate rugs, head straight to Booth #230 at GasLamp Antiques. It’s packed to the gills with Turkish and Persian rugs of all colors and sizes, and we especially love these Turkish rug pillow covers! They’re available for $88 each, but if you buy two or more, you’ll receive a discount of $10 per pillow.
Jute storage baskets
In a similar vein, you can find these beautiful jute storage baskets at English & Company — just around the corner from GasLamp Antiques! They come in two sizes and color schemes. The smaller size ($49.95) features a blush and beige color scheme, while the larger size ($79.95) comes in a slate gray motif.
Petrified wood trays
If you’re in the market for unique FINDS, don’t sleep on Southeastern Salvage on Eugenia Avenue. While it’s definitely a “hit or miss” kind of place, they’re currently stocked with an interesting variety of wooden boards and trays. The heavy petrified wood trays pictured here are a beautiful option for an entryway catch-all, jewelry tray, or even a shallow bowl for whole fruit. No two are alike, and they all fall in the $30-$40 range.
TAILGATING SEASON
Touchdown table runner
Hester & Cook is our go-to for paper goods, and this green “Touchdown Runner” ($29.95) caught our eye for football season! The disposable paper runner is 25 feet long, so you can use it to run the length of multiple tables, run shorter pieces across the table from person to person, or even cut some shorter pieces to use as placemats.
Silicone cups
Unbreakable cups are a MUST, and these colorful silicone options will be the talk of the tailgate. These silicone cups are freezer, dishwasher, and microwave-safe — hot toddy, anyone? You can find this cherry and blush set for $31.50 (plus a few other shapes and colors) at Hot Pink in Brentwood.
Pulled pork pack
If you’re traveling for games but still want Nashville BBQ, keep Peg Leg Porker’s pulled pork packs in mind. This one comes complete with four pounds of pulled pork, plus a bottle of mild sauce and some rub seasoning, all for $145. For best quality, these packs only ship Monday through Thursday for next-day delivery.
Bloody mix
No early game day spread is complete without a good Bloody Mary setup. You can snag this spicy Southern mix at Made in TN for $14.95, along with all kinds of other fixins — pickled veggies, seasoning blends for your salted rim, and more.
FOR FURRY FRIENDS
Dog shampoo
In partnership with local nonprofit Wags & Walks, Ranger Station just launched a limited-edition pet care collection that includes a pet shampoo, candle, and deodorizing spray. You can find this luxuriously scented shampoo for $39 at Ranger Station on 12South.
Striped dog sweater
Our sweet pups deserve a fresh ‘fit for the changing seasons, too! Perfect for showing off at the farmers’ market, this adorable navy stripe sweater is available in four sizes at Draper James for $30.
Dog bandana
And finally, for our furry football friends, an on-theme accessory for game day outings. The “Defender” dog bandana is available in five sizes at The Modern Dog Company in The Nations for only $16!
