In Memphis, September events bring out the best of early fall, with plenty of reasons to get out and explore. The month’s calendar is packed with major museum openings, milestone celebrations, food festivals, live music, family-friendly outings, and a few early Halloween festivities. With something happening nearly every weekend, there’s no shortage of local events worth adding to your schedule.
September 1 – 6, 8 – 13 & 22 – 24, 2026: Memphis Redbirds Baseball Home Games
There’s still time to spend a night at the ballpark! Head to AutoZone Park to cheer on the Memphis Redbirds as they take on the Durham Bulls and Nashville Sounds this month. September 2, 2026: Satellite Music Hall Community Preview Night
Memphis’s newest live music venue is getting ready to make its debut, and you can get a first look during Satellite Music Hall’s Community Preview Night. The 1,300-capacity venue opens its doors to host performances by Stax Music Academy’s 910 Band and 926 Band, plus DJs NYCELYFE and Bizzle Bluebland and Stax Alumni Jazz. September 3, 2026: Theater Thursdays at Loflin Yard

September 4 & 5, 2026: A Very Metal Grand Opening
The Metal Museum is slated to open the doors to its new home this month! The festivities begin with Metal Night at the Overton Park Shell on September 4. September 6, 2026: 7th Annual Craft Food & Wine Festival
The Craft Food & Wine Festival returns to the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art for an evening celebrating Memphis’s culinary creativity. More than 35 local vendors serve small bites alongside wine, craft cocktails, and local spirits. Tickets start at $65 and can be purchased HERE. (Note: This event is 21+.)
September 9, 2026: Food Truck Garden Party

September 10 – 13, 2026: Overton Park Shell 90th Shellebration
This September marks 90 years of memories made on the Overton Park Shell stage. The four-day “Shellebration” kicks off September 10 with a ticketed performance by Booker T. Jones. September 11, 2026: Art on the Rocks: A Garden Cocktail Festival
Spend an evening among the gardens at the Dixon Gallery & Gardens! This festival brings together botanical cocktails, craft beer, wine, and bites from local restaurants, plus live music. September 11 – 13, 2026: Like You Children’s Film Festival

September 11, 18 & 25, 2026: Canoes + Cocktails at Shelby Farms
Looking for a date night that’s a little more adventurous? Canoes + Cocktails at Shelby Farms combines a guided sunset paddle with drinks, snacks, yard games, and music. September 17, 2026: 12th Annual “A Taste of Memphis”
Taking place at Tiger Lane, this year’s “A Taste of Memphis” event is built around a new theme, “Memphis Communities: Together We Rise!” From 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., the evening spotlights Memphis and Shelby County neighborhoods, community development organizations, and other local organizations. September 18, 19, 25 & 26, 2026: Zoo Boo
Zoo Boo brings the spooky fun back to the Memphis Zoo! This year’s Halloween festivities include a brand-new interactive maze, trick-or-treating stops, lights, decorations, photo opportunities, dancing, and live entertainment. September 24 & 25, 2026: Hope Church Market

September 25, 2026: Come As Thou Art: A Broadway Musical Masquerade Ball & Runway
The third annual Come As Thou Art at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art combines a Broadway-inspired costume party with fashion, cocktails, and a runway competition. Guests can expect a couture collection from designer and host Ramona Sonin, followed by a showcase featuring five Memphis-based fashion designers competing for a spot in next year’s Memphis Art and Fashion Week. September 26 & 27, 2026: 4th Annual Asian Night Market
The fourth annual Asian Night Market returns to Agricenter International with more than 100 vendors, authentic Asian street food, unique crafts, cultural performances, and family-friendly activities. This year’s “Feast Under the Golden Moon” theme draws inspiration from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, with a lantern parade adding an extra bit of magic to the evening.
