StyleBlueprint is a local lifestyle publication, started in Nashville, TN in 2009. We have since expanded into Atlanta, Birmingham, Louisville and Memphis. We cover home design, fashion, and recipes, in addition to features on local shops and restaurants and our weekly series which showcases a woman in the community, our “FACES of” series. StyleBlueprint is your daily dose of girlfriend talk. We seek out subjects for StyleBlueprint that define our take on Southern style. We enjoy the conversation that StyleBlueprint allows us to have with our readers who live in each of our SB cities and around the country. Welcome! We know time is precious, so thanks for spending some of it here at StyleBlueprint. We can also be found on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
Although I’ve been in Nashville for over 20 years, Memphis is my hometown. As the oldest of six children, I learned to be creative and resourceful at a young age since money was a little tight. I was the designer and seamstress for all my prom dresses–my favorite being the silver lame’ with a matching jacket! Since I attended Catholic schools for 12 years of my life, uniforms were part of the equation; I’m here to tell you saddle oxfords and a plaid skirt can put a damper on the fashionista in you. I have always loved the thrill of the hunt especially for bargains, and writing StyleBlueprint has given me purpose as I sleuth around town. The most fun part for me is having a store owner tell me when our readers stop by a store we have written about. Most of my career was spent in marketing and broadcasting sales and my favorite quote from that experience is “if you can’t go over, go under.” Thanks for reading StyleBlueprint.
Raised in Virginia by an entrepreneurial family, I made my way to Nashville as a student at Vanderbilt University. I opened my own café in Nashville at the age of 25 and then married an entrepreneur who was raised in an entrepreneurial family. This start-up loving spirit also gives me a different perspective on life: it’s in my blood to support locally owned businesses and I care deeply about customer service. I sold my café weeks before we welcomed our second of three children. Now, StyleBlueprint is a more than full time job and it’s a struggle to balance work and family, so I’m an empathetic ear to both stay-at-home moms and working moms, as I’ve done both, and I’m here to say that in the mommy wars, there are no winners.
I love Nashville and am determined to seek out all the stylish, unique things she has to offer. When I see something done well, I want to scream about it from a rooftop. StyleBlueprint is my rooftop.
