From city-owned to private parks, Nashville has some of the best, most inventive dog parks. Here's your official guide!
Nashville might just be one of the most dog-friendly cities in the South. Regardless of the neighborhood, there are plenty of opportunities for your furry friends to run around. From city-owned spaces to private parks, there’s no shortage of dog-dedicated land – some even include city views, murals, and puppy playgrounds. So, grab your pup and head to one of these Music City dog parks!
Downtown Dog Park
200 1st Ave. S, Nashville TN 37213
Hours: Daily, 6 a.m. to midnight
Located in Riverfront Park, Downtown Nashville Dog Park boasts fantastic city views. The dog park itself is made up of 13,000 square feet of eco-friendly astroturf. This park also contains obstacle courses for your dog to jump around and play on; great exercise with little energy from you! Similarly, Riverfront Park has many fun activities for humans, from viewing the Ascend Amphitheater and walking around the 18,000 square feet of botanical gardens to enjoying a picnic with friends.

Gulch Dog Park
1216 Pine St, Nashville, TN 37203
Hours: Daily, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Situated in the heart of the Gulch, Gulch Dog Park is just a short walk to Nashville favorites like 404 Kitchen and Hops + Crafts. This dog park is divided into two sections — a large dog and a small dog area — with your pet’s safety always in mind. On certain days, you can even walk over to the community hub, where you’ll find a lineup of food trucks. Why not enjoy a tasty bite while letting your dog roam around the fenced-in area of the Gulch Dog Park?


Bark Park

The creators of BarkBox turned their love for dogs into a new concept with their opening of Bark Park in 2018. Unlike the usual dog park, Bark Park is also made with humans in mind. With modern seating, hanging tables, and neon signs, this is the perfect “Instagramable” dog park. Your dog can pick from a selection of toys (for a small fee) before running to several fountains on the grounds. You can purchase a day pass for $15 or a monthly pass for $39. Lastly, unlike other parks where drinks are not allowed, Bark Park encourages owners to BYOB. For a fun weekend activity, grab your pup, grab your friends, grab a drink, and head over to Bark Park!
Miss Peggy’s Bark Park (formerly Barkwood Dog Park)

The newly renamed Miss Peggy’s Bark Park is dedicated to Peggy Sain Howell, a lover of dogs and an active member of the Brentwood community. With one area for small dogs and another for large dogs, your pup will undoubtedly enjoy running around in the sizeable enclosed area with other dogs. Hydrants and water stations are located around the grounds, with shaded benches for owners. Lastly, do not forget to take your dog on a short walk to the creek nearby to cool off after playing!
Frankie Pierce Park Dog Park

Hours: Daily, 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
In 2019, Frankie Pierce Park was opened in honor of its namesake, who was born into slavery and later became an active suffragist in Nashville. Not only does the park boast historical information and pay homage to Frankie Pierce, but it also contains a dog park. Located in the Capitol View neighborhood, Frankie Pierce Dog Park is the perfect place to take your dogs on a sunny day — there’s a fenced-in area to run around, along with artificial grass so your pup won’t get muddy! After letting your dog run around, be sure to stroll the grounds of the park, which also features a playground and volleyball court.

Blue’s Dog Park

Hours: Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Although The Garden Stop is known for its large selection of flowers, trees, and outdoor items, it also doubles as a dog park! You’ll find a colorful fenced-in area behind the shop for dogs of all sizes to enjoy. Blue’s Dog Park offers obstacles for dogs, running areas, exercise equipment, and even spots to wash off your pup. So, don’t forget to bring your dog on your next outing to the flower shop!
