It’s not as fun to say, but the delightful precursor to sweater weather is light jacket season. And because we mean to celebrate every minute of fall, we’re sharing a roundup of fall jackets you can buy now and wear straight through winter. Utilitarian details like quilting and barn jackets are back this season, and you’ll also see fun new spins on classic favorites like denim, suede, and relaxed blazers.

Barn Jackets

If you’ve never owned a barn jacket before, you’ll likely be surprised by how much wear you’ll get out of it (and how many compliments you’ll receive). Thanks to a recent surge in popularity, they’re widely available online in a variety of lengths, silhouettes, fabrics, and price points.

Quilted Jackets

It’s easy to find quilted jackets in classic shades like navy, army green, and brown — simply search “quilted jacket,” and you’ll be spoiled for choice. But brands are having fun with playful patterns this season, too! Consider experimenting with bright colors or intricate patterns for a statement-making option.

Denim

Denim will never go out of style, but for 2025, you’ll find plenty of fun new silhouettes and lengths to play with. For a polished spin, consider high-collar and even collarless designs.

Suede

Luxe textures like shearling and suede in cozy brown shades are an obvious fit for fall fashion. These two styles offer an alternative to the suede moto jacket trend of years past.

Blazers & Trenches

Blazers and light trench coats are another perennial fall favorite, but we’re loving this year’s takes on traditional styles — think unexpected colors, fabrics, and lengths. The two options below are excellent examples of ways to think outside the box with menswear-inspired jackets.
