French Ham and Cheese Baguettes
Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter at room temperature (55g)
- 1 baguette halved lengthwise and toasted
- 3 Tbsp whole-grain mustard like Maille
- 8 oz thinly sliced unsmoked ham (230 g)
- 8 oz thinly sliced Gruyère, Brie, or Jarlsberg cheese (230 g)
Instructions
- Spread the butter on one half of the baguette and spread the mustard on the other half.
- Layer the bottom of the baguette with the ham and cheese.
- Place the top of the baguette on the sandwich and use a bread knife to cut it crosswise into 2- to 3-in. [5 to 7.5 cm] slices.
- Wrap each slice with parchment paper and tie with twine or use short skewers or toothpicks to secure them. Serve immediately.
