Through careful research, the team at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage is now offering special tours that showcase the lives of enslaved men and women that lived and worked on the property during President Jackson’s life and beyond. The tour showcases the harsh realities of slavery, the importance of these men and women in terms of maintaining the farm, and how they lived until gaining freedom. Tour guides walk guests through the grounds, showing places where enslaved men and women were born, lived, worked, and died. Tickets are $35, and tours take place every Thursday through Sunday at 1 p.m. until January 24, 2021. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit thehermitage.com.
