As the sun began to set over downtown, ladies gathered in the courtyard of Schermerhorn Symphony Center in eager anticipation of the arrival of Carolina Herrera and her F/W ’16 collection. After mingling over cocktails and admiring Mednikow Jewelers’ jewelry display, guests took their seats for the runway show and were welcomed by Holly Williams, emcee for the evening.
Each show goer admired the stunning designs of Carolina Herrera as they made their way down the runway. With mouths agape, onlookers were marveled by the 3-D embroidered gowns, the elegant, flowing dresses and skirts, and fabrics in soft neutrals, pinks and blues as well as vibrant variations of violet, mulberry and iris. Guests were then reminded of the Nashville Symphony’s impact on all ages through a classical harp performance by a 16-year-old harpist. Sara Evans rounded out the evening with a live performance of her top hits, such “Born to Fly” and “Stronger.”
We were overjoyed to be among one of the world’s finest designers and hundreds of the stunning, interesting women (and a few men) that make Nashville so fabulous. Relive the evening through these images, taken by Leila Grossman of Grannis Photography.
