Iroquois Steeplechase, Mother’s Day, wedding showers, graduation parties, Sunday brunches, patio happy hours … It seems there are a million occasions in May that require a dress. When the sky is blue and the sun is shining, don’t we all just want to soak in some vitamin D? Sure, there’s no better way to flaunt that beautiful bronzed glow than in a breezy and stylish sundress, but let’s cut to the chase and let the pictures do the talking. We rounded up 19 – yes, 19 – fabulous dresses (and a bevy of Steeplechase-worthy hats!) that are perfect for any occasion on your packed May social calendar. Modeled by local gals Alli Bridgers, Halina Hannon and Cynthia Kelley, each look is both flattering and fun. Use this guide for spring shopping, and dressing for all occasions will be a breeze!
(Oh, and we have something for the guys too. For the men in your life, this guide to dressing for spring should come in handy. With tips and suggestions, they will be looking as good as you do … almost!)

A look behind the scenes …
Wardrobe consultant Rebecca Thompson pulled dresses and accessories from The French Shoppe, Boutique Bella, Copper Penny, Stacey Rhodes, Fabu, e. Allen and Upper Eastside Nashville. We shot on location at the beautiful Steeplechase track in Edwin Warner Park, where our gracious models showed off Rebecca’s stylish ensembles. The Cosmetic Market provided makeup for all the models.
Cosmetic Market‘s talented Kristen Dupay gave our lovely models a fresh glow appropriate for events all spring long!
The Nashville Fashion Alliance graciously loaned us these fun pop-up changing room tents, hand painted by New Hat Projects!
Special thanks to Alli Bridgers, Halina Hannon and Cynthia Kelley for being our models and to Rebecca Thompson for styling the shoot. And of course thank you to Leila Grossman of Grannis Photography for the beautiful photos!
