With warmer days on the horizon, we are ready to fill up the calendar with spring activities in Nashville. Between Nashville Fashion Week, the Reaching New Heights Luncheon and the Corkdorks Nashville Wine & Food Festival, we are relishing in April’s many opportunities to experience fashion, food and beautiful afternoons in the community.
We were thrilled to welcome the amazing Poni Silver as our “What To Wear” stylist. Tapping into her designer’s eye, Nashville Fashion Week experience and her talented network of pals, Poni pulled looks from this year’s featured designers as well as from Gus Mayer, and Nashville Fashion Week co-founder and local fashion icon Connie Cathcart-Richardson contributed some fabulous accessories from Margaret Ellis Jewelry, all of which was modeled by Rebecca Owen and Paige Roddey, co-chairs of the Reaching New Heights Luncheon. As an added bonus, if you want to complete your look, you’ll love how we paired each event with the ultimate accessory: a luxury ride to help you arrive in style.
Here’s what to wear to some of Music City’s top April events.
The Event: Nashville Fashion Week
- April 2-6, 2019
- OZ Arts
- Elevated fashion
- Times vary; find the complete schedule here.
- Find tickets here.
For one week in April, an entire year of work and anticipation culminates in a stunning celebration of local fashion designers. From daytime shopping events to evening runway shows, Nashville Fashion Week recognizes the best in local creative talent with a lineup of fabulous events. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, which supports local designers, stylists, models, and hair and makeup artists in the industry as they pursue their careers. Reserve your seat now to experience this special week of style in Nashville!
What to Wear: How better to prepare for Nashville Fashion Week than to try some of the featured looks ourselves? These designers bring the boldest and chicest looks to the runway through these dreamy ensembles. As you’re eying the wonders of the runway, embrace fun patterns, a mixture of textures and bold accessories. We love any opportunity to don a great pair of pants, a sharp (or sequined) blazer and, yes, a fringe skirt.

The Event: Reaching New Heights Luncheon
- April 3, 2019
- Hillwood Country Club
- Dressy luncheon attire
- 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Tickets start at $150. Get yours here.
After having this event on our April calendar for a while, we were so thrilled to have the Reaching New Heights Luncheon co-chairs, Rebecca and Paige, join us to model and also to share more about this special event. Gather with ladies around Nashville for a special afternoon to benefit the alcohol and drug addiction recovery center at Cumberland Heights. You’ll be amazed by everything this center is doing right here in Middle Tennessee. Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner will serve as the featured speaker for this incredible fundraising opportunity that supports women throughout our community.
What to Wear: Luncheon attire seems straightforward, but it’s also a chance to bring some pizzazz. A great dress at a suitable length is always a great bet, so choose a unique pattern or something with a fun sleeve to switch it up. Spring is settling in, so embrace your chance to wear bright colors, open-toed shoes and perhaps your first sleeveless top of the season (though we recommend bringing a layer just in case).

This late-April event is perfectly timed to ensure great weather and to draw out our excitement all month. Corkdorks Wine, Spirits, Beer presents this year’s Nashville Wine & Food Festival as an exciting chance to showcase the city’s incredible cuisine, paired with high-end wines from around the world. Sample from more than 150 wines, enjoy bites from some of Nashville’s best restaurants, and enjoy chef demonstrations, wine seminars, a beer garden, cocktail lounge and plenty of live music! The event benefits the Nashville Symphony.
What to Wear: While this festival specializes in pairings of the wine and food variety, we’re here to help with pairings of your outfits and accessories. After a long season of waiting, we’re all too ready to break out our bright colors. An entire afternoon sipping and savoring demands some comfort, so opt for a flexible maxi dress and reliable shoes. And a light layer is always a good idea in spring. Choose a denim jacket or fun blazer because staying warm never has to be boring!
