What to Wear: March 2017 Events in Nashville

February 23, 2017 by Margaret McClintock

An exceptionally mild February has us wondering if ol’ Punxsutawney Phil really did see his shadow. Whether he was pulling our tail or not, there’s no sense denying that spring fever is setting in. Thankfully, Nashville’s local boutiques are more than prepared to treat your fever, stocked with sweet dresses, trendy tops and classic staples that can be worn all spring long — even if winter’s cold winds return.

Wardrobe consultant extraordinaire Rebecca Thompson pulled looks for a range of Saturday night March events that you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re heading to a black tie gala like Ballet Ball or to a beer festival with the girls for Main Street Brewfest or Nuit Belge at Marathon Music Works, we’ve got you covered. Read on to see what to wear and where to wear it this month!

Sarah Souther of Bang Candy and Telisha Cobb of IndieNash graciously agreed to be our models this month. Their gorgeous looks from the shoot can be found at Jamie, Elle Gray and Stacey Rhodes. We shot on location at Bang Candy Company, Marathon Music Works and all around Marathon Village.

The Event: Ballet Ball at Schermerhorn Symphony Center

  • Saturday, March 4, 2017
  • A black-tie fundraiser celebrating patronage of the arts
  • For more information, click here.

What to wear: One of Nashville’s most elegant fundraisers, Ballet Ball is a combination of philanthropy, arts and a fabulous fête. The black-tie dress code offers an occasion to dust off your finest dancing shoes and slip into something glamorous. Derive some inspiration from these looks from Jamie.

Look #1:

A red gown is always a showstopper! Formal looks from Jamie make dressing for black tie events a breeze!

On Sarah (from Jamie): Paule KA red gown, $1,848; CZ bracelets, $128-$238; rose cut diamond necklace, $7,588

Look #2:

Looking lovely in lavender - a bold back to a dress is always a way to turn heads! Jamie has gowns for all your black tie events!

On Sarah (from Jamie): Michail Skyianakis lavender gown, $1,798; Bittersweet Designs necklace, $468

A statement back to a gown will always turn heads!

The detail on the back of this gown is breathtaking!

The Event: Main Street Brewfest in Franklin

  • Saturday, March 11, 2017
  • An evening of beer, music and merriment in downtown Franklin

What to wear: You’ll be sampling local, national and international beers while wandering around America’s favorite Main Street. Throw on your favorite trendy top and those go-to booties that make you walk tall. We recommend a trip to Elle Gray if your closet needs a little spring refreshing.
