The George

Where to Eat & Drink in College Station

If you’re looking for a bite to eat ahead of the game, or perhaps items to pick up for your tailgate, here are some of your best bets located near campus.

Fuego Tortilla Grill

The Tap

Located in a 1930s train depot building, The Tap has offered beer and food to Aggie fans since 1990. If you’re lucky, you may even be in town during one of the bar’s many live music events.


Where to Tailgate in College Station

There are a few different areas to consider if you’re interested in tailgating. Each is filled with both alums and student organizations. You can set up your own tent, or just choose to wander and socialize.

  • Reed Arena (west of the stadium)
  • Simpson Drill Field (north of the stadium)
  • Spence Park (east of the stadium)
  • If you’re looking to have someone else set up your tailgate, the university partnered with Tailgate Guys to bring this option to fans.


If you’re hoping to continue the festivities post-game, consider stopping by one of these spots:

  • Dixie Chicken: An older bar in the area, this is a great spot to play a round of pool, grab a pitcher of beer, and even see a live rattlesnake.
  • Northgate District: Northgate is a strip of bars near campus that’s sure to be lively post-game. Two good spots are The Backyard and Corner Bar.
