Schedule your pedicure, pack away your boots and embrace the warm weather by sliding into a new pair of shoes this spring. Whether you are looking for something casual, dressy, trendy, classic, strappy or functional, we’ve found it. We scoured the shops around town and selected more than a dozen pairs of shoes that you are sure to love — and wear often — this spring and summer.
Gold cross-strap sandals
Add a little sparkle and shine to your ensemble with gold flat sandals by Qupid. These stylish sandals will go with just about everything in your closet and are perfect for days when you (and your feet) just need something quick and easy to throw on. Pick up a pair at Lizard Thicket Boutique for $26.50.
Even though sandals are synonymous with summer, don’t shy away from a pair of warm-weather flats, such as these from Nisolo. This shoe is handmade with interwoven strips of leather (soft enough that it won’t cause blisters) that allow your feet to breathe even on the hottest of days. We adore the burnt Sienna color, but you can also find these in shades of almond and bone for $98 at Nisolo.
Strappy gladiator slides
Slides are showing up more and more this season, and we’re loving the versatility and ease they add to a wardrobe. These black Sol Sana Flick sandals add just the right amount of contemporary edge to everyday wear, while still being comfortable enough to serve double duty on the weekends. Pick up a pair from Hemline for $90.
It comes as no surprise that this timeless design hasn’t gone out of style. Any outfit men choose to don this spring/summer will be elevated with a pair of leather wingtips with classic broguing on the edges. At an approachable price point of $98 at Nisolo, these shoes will last long enough to cost mere pennies per wear.
When hitting the streets of Nashville for shopping, exploring or embracing your inner tourist, you want to be walking in comfort. Thankfully, Bucketfeet shoes are both comfortable and stylish for any outing. Moreover, each pair has a story of its own. More than 25,000 artists in 100 countries have come together to design this line of footwear. For example, this pair from Stacey Rhodes, $104, was designed by DJ Lu, a street artist in Botega, Colombia.
Sporty summer staple
By summer’s end, everyone is showing off their Chaco tan. While intentionally wearing a pair of shoes all summer to get stripes across the top of your feet may sound silly, after walking around in a pair of these, you may find yourself drinking the hipster Kool-Aid. Comfortable, fun and available in so many colors, Chacos are the shoes you will reach for time and time again this summer. Snag a pair of the Chaco Z/Cloud X2 at Cumberland Transit for $110.
Eyelet thong slides
Dress up your weekend look with a pair of Joie thong sandals. Available in black and gold, these shoes will elevate your flip-flop game without sacrificing a moment of comfort. Show off your pedicure and easy, breezy summertime style with these sandals from The Perfect Pair, available for $150. (SB Tip: The Perfect Pair has moved from its Bandywood location to Hillsboro Circle, still in Green Hills, now catty-corner from Noshville.)
Sturdy and stylish all-day wear
For the long days of walking around town or on vacation, these NOAT sandals are a must. Designed with great arch and instep support, these sandals will mold to your feet more with each wear, giving you the comfort and stability you need. The stylish toe strap and fun pink hue will make these the shoes you reach for even when you aren’t walking far — they just look that good. Find them at Cute & Comfy Shoes for $149.
Laid-back sandals with personality
Perhaps Coachella wasn’t on your calendar this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t embrace the fringe and bohemian trends that have swept the festival scene. Although many shoes mimic these trends, we particularly like this pair of A.S. 98 sandals for their coloring, unique detailing and comfort. Jump into a pair for $185 at Haven.
This trendy style of lace-up shoes (of all heights) has held popularity for multiple seasons now and we are grateful. With a four-inch heel and a gladiator-inspired design, these Dolce Vita shoes ($149) from Stacey Rhodes are great for a gals’ night out or a weekend dinner date.
Classic slingback wedge
These are the wedges your closet needs. You will wear them with everything from dresses to white jeans to shorts. Full-grained leather and a cushioned cork footbed give these three-inch Korkease sandals all-day walkability. Slide into a pair at Cute & Comfy Shoes for $145 and strut out in style.
An on-trend mule
This classic yet modern mule is on-trend for the season. Handmade in Texas, the shoe features ombre hues of peanut (pictured right) and blue (pictured left). Even better, they are as comfortable as they are stylin’. Find these at Lucchese for $495 and plan to wear them for spring, summer and fall.
In this case, Peter Nappi has moved slightly away from the well-loved boots and created a slingback bootie in Vitello leather. The stacked leather 3.5-inch heels are sturdy and won’t leave the dogs barking at the end of the day. Find these in Fumare (brown) and Salvia (green) for $375 at Peter Nappi.
These Humanoid Saldo heels, with a strap that wraps around the ankle, scream spring with light colors and a playful design. The mustard yellow color allows you to make a statement without the attention-grabbing nature of neon yellow. Throw these on with jeans or a dress and watch heads turn. Find them for $405 at Hero.
Sassy lace-up sandals
Elevate your summer outfit staples with these Loeffler Randall lace-up sandals. The anaconda printed leather and 3.5-inch heel will have you strutting down the streets in style. Perfect for weddings, date nights, girls’ nights and everything in between, you may even find yourself inventing occasions to wear them. Step into a pair at Jamie for $425.
A dress up or down men’s shoe
Thanks to the thoughtful shoemaking process of Peter Nappi shoes, each pair is a work of art, and this pair of men’s boots is no exception. New to shelves this spring, these shoes can be worn to the office, on the weekends and even for casual nights on the town. Steer your man in the direction of Germantown to snag a pair of these from Peter Nappi for $650.
Whatever shoes you step into this spring, be sure to step out the door with confidence!
